Human Beings<\/em> shows Karin expanding from her original electro-pop persona down into darker territories\u00a0–\u00a0she has used her music as a form of cathartic expression, helping her to cope with her partner\u2019s harrowing battle with throat cancer.<\/p>\n

‘My boyfriend was diagnosed with cancer last year. It\u2019s been the hardest year of our lives.. This is a song about when you stand by someone who\u2019s getting weaker and weaker but there is nowhere you\u2019d rather be than by their side\u2019<\/em> Karin explains.\u00a0\u2018A lot of songs I feel like I\u2019m making for me, but this is a story I wanted to get out there. I feel there may be a lot of people going through similar things and this could help them cope.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n

For the visuals, Karin wants to underline the message that this is \u2018a song for everyone\u2019<\/em> by asking her fans to listen to the track\u00a0and\u00a0lyrics, and then submit their own personal videos (only 20 seconds or so), YouTube clips and pictures to be used to create the official video.<\/p>\n

No subject is off limits: war, religion, love, hate, life, death, family, history, controversy. She sees this as a project for everyone, believing that \u2018together we can create a video that we can all be proud of\u2019<\/em>.<\/p>\n

‘Human Beings is very personal, but also more clear and direct than I\u2019ve been before\u2019<\/em> she says. ‘It\u2019s frightening but exciting. Pain can turn into something beautiful, and I believe it\u2019s important to be a bit personal in the search for magic. And that\u2019s why I\u2019m asking YOU to get involved and share your story so we can make this video together\u2019.<\/em> More info can be found in the video below.<\/p>\n
