Downtown Boys’ debut LP ‘Full Communism’ is a thrashing record of songs about smashing the prison-industrial complex, racism, queerphobia, capitalism, fascism, boredom, and all things people use to try to close our minds, eyes and hearts. Released\u00a0May 4 via\u00a0Don Giovanni Records, the band has taken their ferocious live show on the road with labelmates Screaming Females, and they\u2019ll celebrate a hometown throwdown in Providence, RI on April 5 before heading out for a national tour. They recently played SXSW and were hailed as\u00a0“Band Most Likely to Make You Enter the Pit”\u00a0by SPIN<\/a>.<\/p>\n

<\/code><\/p>\n

‘Full Communism’ comes at a current critical moment in the struggle for justice being fought in the US and throughout the world. It is set to a commanding tempo programmed make you move regardless of whether singer Victoria Ruiz is singing or shouting. The band revealed lead album single Monstro<\/a><\/em>\u00a0recently and today they shared Future Police<\/em>\u00a0– listen to the track below via YouTube.<\/p>\n

Downtown Boys\u00a0are a bilingual political sax punk party from Providence, RI. Impossible to categorize and comprised of a formidable voice, two saxophones, guitar, bass and drums, their scathing energy is palpable in every room they take hold of. Shifting from English to Spanish, punk to rock to jazz to pure fun, their record is sure to open eyes, rattle ribs and bring dancefloors to their knees. The sextet will be on the road through the spring, hitting New York, DC and Chicago, see all the dates below.<\/p>\n
