Young Galaxy, who recently released their fifth LP\u00a0‘Falsework’ via Paper Bag Records, have just released a bonus track from the album. SPIN\u00a0premiered Were You Ever a Dreamer?<\/em>\u00a0here<\/a>, noting: “Grooving with\u00a0angular beats, the track showcases leader\u00a0Catherine McCandless’ aching vocals”.<\/p>\n

Young Galaxy released\u00a0Falsework<\/em>\u00a0world-wide on\u00a0Paper Bag Records\u00a0and\u00a0Plancha (Japan)\u00a0on October 30th.\u00a0The album is the follow-up to the\u00a0Polaris Music Prize\u00a0short-listed ‘Ultramarine’ and their third album produced by\u00a0Dan Lissvik\u00a0(Studio,\u00a0Atelje).\u00a0 Order the CD and vinyl\u00a0here<\/a>\u00a0via Paper Bag Records.<\/p>\n

The winter of 2014\/2015 took Young Galaxy from their studio in Montreal to Gothenburg and back.\u00a0 The band’s latest\u00a0new full length\u00a0‘Falsework’\u00a0completes the sound they have been mining on their past two albums\u00a0‘Shapeshifting’ (2011)\u00a0and\u00a0‘Ultramarine’ (2013) with producer\u00a0Dan Lissvik. The album is undeniably synth pop without the simplicity and was informed and inspired by 80’s electro, acid house and r&b, music that was well ahead of its time.\u00a0\u00a0‘Falsework’\u00a0was made using machines from the past to sound like music from the future.<\/p>\n

Young Galaxy’s upcoming live shows will be quite unique and include a music-triggered light show designed by\u00a0Adam Hummell,\u00a0who recently contributed to productions such as\u00a0Madonna’s Super Bowl Halftime performance and MDNA tour,\u00a0Cirque Du Soleil,\u00a0Miley\u00a0Cyrus’ Bangrz Tour.
