The track is lifted from their highly anticipated debut LP, which is out now\u00a0via Kanine, Buzz Records and Memphis Industries. <em>Tick<\/em> was one the first tracks to attract attention to the band when it was released in the summer of 2015. The video was\u00a0directed by Benjamin Dabu, and stars comedian Chris Locke as a man who suffers a Weaves-induced midlife crisis.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/4IMTvbw7Uo4?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-CA&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;The video is about the incessant ticking of the clock, nagging at you to realize your dreams, and the gentle reminder that sometimes dreams should remain fantasy,&#8221;<\/em> says the band&#8217;s guitarist, Morgan\u00a0Waters, who helped edit the video. <em>&#8220;Music makes you feel young.\u00a0But what happens when you&#8217;re suddenly the old guy at a party trying to get the roach going? Our friend, and brilliant comedian Chris Locke, plays a man who stares into the void, hears our song and experiences a midlife crisis.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Weaves have been working on their self-titled LP\u00a0for almost as long as they have been a band, tracking with Leon Taheny (Dilly Dally, Owen Pallett, Austra) in\u00a0sessions that span most of the last two years. Mixed by Alex Newport (Death Cab for Cutie, Melvins, At The Drive In)\u00a0and mastered by John Greenham (Death Grips, Sky Ferreira), the result is an album that traverses the band&#8217;s history, exploring every facet of their always adventurous approach to pop music\u00a0and leaving no idea\u00a0unexplored. Filled beyond bursting with hooks and possibilities, it&#8217;s the sound of a band propelled forward by the thrill of discovering the limits of their sound and\u00a0gleefully pushing past them. <em>&#8220;We&#8217;re always trying to push ourselves,&#8221;<\/em> says Waters, <em>&#8220;sometimes it feels like bands aren&#8217;t necessary, like they&#8217;re not the one&#8217;s pushing music forward, so I think we&#8217;re trying to hopefully prove that bands aren&#8217;t boring.
