{"id":22832,"date":"2016-07-27T12:00:27","date_gmt":"2016-07-27T16:00:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cultureaddicts.com\/?p=22832"},"modified":"2016-07-25T20:26:54","modified_gmt":"2016-07-26T00:26:54","slug":"chelan-shares-new-single-wont-break","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cultureaddicts.com\/?p=22832","title":{"rendered":"Chelan shares new single &#8216;Won&#8217;t Break&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Joshua Tree&#8217;s synth pop\u00a0band Chelan have shared\u00a0a second track, <em>Won&#8217;t Break<\/em>,\u00a0from their upcoming album.\u00a0Their upcoming full-length &#8216;Vultures&#8217; is\u00a0set for release August 26 via Something In Stereo. <em>Won&#8217;t Break<\/em> is a more luminous view inside of &#8216;Vultures&#8217;\u00a0compared the the darker\u00a0<em>Beams<\/em>, which they shared last month. When asked about the writing process for Vultures&#8217; Justin Hosford says\u00a0<em>&#8220;Its been a fun challenge\u00a0morphing from the\u00a0mostly\u00a0electronic, subdued indie\u00a0aesthetic of our last couple albums to the\u00a0wall of sound, big production\u00a0synth pop thing we went for on this record.&#8221;<\/em>\u00a0The album surrounds layered\u00a0vocals with\u00a0lush analog synths, guitar, drums, cello\u00a0and piano. Chelan\u00a0is currently\u00a0planning a tour in the spring of 2017. &#8216;<\/p>\n<p>Vultures&#8217; was mastered by Jared Hirshland of Elysian Mastering.
