O.O.T.P.V<\/em> is the third song the band has shared from their forthcoming album, ‘Avvolgere’ (out on Sept. 23\u00a0via Relapse Records), having previously debuted the video for Theurgist<\/em><\/a>\u00a0and kicking off news of the new album\u2019s forthcoming release with a stream of Entheogen<\/em><\/a>. All three songs are available as instant\u00a0downloads with digital pre-orders, which can be found here: truewidow.bandcamp.com<\/a> and\u00a0itunes.apple.com\/us\/album\/avvolgere\/id1132756454<\/a>. The band recorded Avvolgere with Matt Pence, who also recorded their 2013 release, ‘Circumambulation,’ at his Echo Lab studio in Argyle, Tex. earlier this year. NPR marveled at band\u2019s mastery of using \u201cvolume as an instrument,\u201d while Pitchfork commented on their ability to \u201cfind virtue in pairing grit with sluggishness.\u201d \u201cOver the course of three albums,\u201d the Wall Street Journal said in an article on the DFW-outfit, \u201cthe Dallas-based band has refined a sound rooted in focused repetition, bass-heavy guitar drones, ethereal vocals, and almost always, crawling tempos.\u201d With ‘Avvolgere,’ True Widow perfects their craft, featuring serene, rounded climaxes and steep, jangling choruses that engulf the listener with waves of downbeat, saccharine melodies and mesmerizing distortion.<\/p>\n

True Widow is D.H. Phillips (guitar\/steel guitar\/vocals), Nicole Estill (bass\/acoustic guitar\/vocals) and Slim TX (drums\/piano).<\/p>\n
