Following up from\u00a0her critically acclaimed debut album ‘Days Hours Nights,’\u00a0Brooklyn based indie pop singer\u00a0BETS\u00a0has announced her new full-album cover of the\u00a0Violent Femmes\u2019 1983 self-titled debut breakout record. Skillfully washing a lush wall of noise to the classic tracks, the result is a neo-psychedelia, shoegaze record with a pop twist. BETS and her producer were in the midst of recording her new album of original songs and found themselves geeking out over their shared love of Violent Femmes’ first album. Within a few minutes, they decided to put her sophomore album on hold and started work on the ‘Violent Femmes’\u00a0<\/em>cover album.<\/p>\n

BETS\u2019 dreamy voice is a sweet contrast to the content of the lyrics, elevating the the strong connection she feels to the words and feelings of that of the original. The ‘Violent Femmes’\u00a0<\/em>cover album is a bridge for her between her first LP and her sophomore original work. Since dropping her self-released debut and touring across the U.S., Canada and Europe, BETS has cultivated a steadily growing community, amassing\u00a0<\/strong>nearly 10K fans on Facebook.
