The clip was directed by Paul Cherry and Brooke Lord, the video addresses male dominance in music as we follow around Cherry&#8217;s alter ego Paul Scary while he partakes in his usual riotous and unaware behaviour. Watch it via YouTube below.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/vV41PE5fkDU?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-CA&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Paul Cherewick, aka Paul Cherry, came up during Chicago&#8217;s garage rock golden age of 2014. Despite being heavily involved in the DIY scene with up and coming bands such as Twin Peaks and The Lemons, Paul has abandoned the all too familiar lo-fi rock sound of his first EP &#8216;On Top&#8217;. He has spent the past 2 years returning to his jazz roots, completely reinventing himself on his upcoming LP, &#8216;Flavour&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>The first single, <em>Like Yesterday<\/em>\u00a0sets the tone for the record as a mid-tempo pop ballad. It would fit nicely as a modern addition to Paul McCartney&#8217;s <em>Ram<\/em> or Todd Rundgren&#8217;s <em>Something\/Anything<\/em>, or even Player&#8217;s <em>Baby Come Back<\/em>. Paul Cherry crafts melodies on &#8216;Flavour&#8217; that sit at the intersection of 1970s yacht rock and Ariel Pink&#8217;s lo-fi dream pop. Lyrically, Cherry touches on millennial culture with references to love in the modern age, phone culture, and giving a new, light-hearted twist to age old old themes of love lost, missed connections and polar political climates.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">&#8216;Flavour,&#8217; the debut LP from Paul Cherry, is due March 2018 via\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/subrosacuration.us16.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=31075f61edbd1a8f7b3a61382&amp;id=13c7a0ef55&amp;e=8739f0d8d6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Feeltrip Records<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\"><p>Paul Cherry has shared his new video for the track Like Yesterday.\u00a0This is the first single lifted off his upcoming 2018 album, &#8216;Flavour&#8217;.
