Take a listen to the track via Soundcloud below.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/w.soundcloud.com\/player\/?url=https%3A\/\/api.soundcloud.com\/tracks\/392031999&amp;color=%23969595&amp;auto_play=false&amp;hide_related=false&amp;show_comments=true&amp;show_user=true&amp;show_reposts=false&amp;show_teaser=true\" width=\"100%\" height=\"166\" frameborder=\"no\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>San comments:\u00a0<em>\u201c\u2018Five Spot Stomp\u2019 is a track from a location called The Corner in the video game. JonJon showed me a concept sketch he had done of this location, complete with a crowd of kids standing around cheering on the battle. My goal was to make a track that would fit the visuals he had created. I kept the rhythm target hits relatively simple since it\u2019s still in the early part (level 2) of the game.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Tone-wise, it was fun to make a track that nodded to the beats I grew up listening to when I was in high school, the ones built around a lost loop of an old jazz club jam. \u00a0I played some upright bass and drums and recorded them with an old RCA ribbon microphone. \u00a0I then re-sampled all the layers into this very strange Vestax 10 bit sampler to get that crunchy sound, and added a few scratches here and there. Those are my daughters doing the countdowns in the track. We had a lot of fun jumpin&#8217; around in the studio that day!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>An original concept by award-winning animator bboy JonJon and Kid Koala himself, <em>Floor Kids <\/em>captures the essence of what makes \u201cbreaking\u201d an artform unlike any other. Adding another dimension to the universe of multimedia projects San has created over a twenty-year career, Kid Koala scores a timeless journey across every era of the break, from silky \u201870s funk, to thumping \u201880s 808s, granular \u201890s 12bit hip-hop, and 00\u2019s synth funk.<\/p>\n<p>The game has already garnered several awards for its interactive gameplay, innovative control system, and vibrant animation. Now, Kid Koala\u2019s soundtrack is getting its due, most recently earning Best Game Audio at Indie Prize. &#8216;The Floor Kids Original Video Game Soundtrack&#8217;\u00a0is available for <a href=\"https:\/\/girlieaction.us1.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=1d59aca4aeedaab429816159e&amp;id=8bd77fefb3&amp;e=3a430a552a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pre-order<\/a> in limited edition 2LP gatefold vinyl and digital formats.<\/p>\n<p>Kid Koala has also announced the Vinyl Vaudeville: Floor Kids Edition tour, a special expanded version of his road-tested variety show, including a traveling arcade that will hit the road on April 26th (full date listing below).<\/p>\n<p>Kid Koala has toured with the likes of Radiohead, Beastie Boys, Arcade Fire, A Tribe Called Quest, and DJ Shadow. He has contributed to film scores and soundtracks for <em>Shaun Of The Dead<\/em>, <em>Scott Pilgrim vs. The World<\/em>, <em>Baby Driver<\/em>, and composed music for <em>Adult Swim<\/em>, Cartoon Network, <em>Sesame Street<\/em>, and the National Film Board of Canada.
