Check out the video via YouTube below.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/P5mVw6vPaHg?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-CA&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Of the song, vocalist\/guitarist Romy Vager stated:\u00a0 &#8220;<i>The song is about the desire to split yourself into two separate people to appease those around you. It&#8217;s a kind of an impossible desire to have. At the time I wrote it, I was changing into a very different person and was figuring out what parts of my life were important for me to hold on to. We recorded this song the day we learnt it, which I think gives it an extra bit of urgency and fragility to it.<\/i>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>RVG self-released their sensational debut full-length, &#8216;A Quality Of Mercy,&#8217; in early 2017, garnering tremendous praise from the local media, signing to Our Golden Friend and Island Records to reissue the album in October. More recently international outlets have begun to pay attention.<\/p>\n<p>Download\/Stream &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/t.e2ma.net\/click\/rzsas\/z1r5vo\/jd20af\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">A Quality Of Mercy<\/a>&#8216;<\/p>\n<p>The Romy Vager Group made their live debut in 2015, with Vager joined by Angus Bell, Reuben Bloxham and Marc Nolte.\u00a0 It was meant to be a one-off, but it was immediately apparent that together they had found something special.\u00a0&#8216;A Quality Of Mercy&#8217; was recorded live off the floor at The Tote, engineered by Bell, capturing the raw energy the band brings to their performances, and mastered by Mikey Young (Eddy Current Suppression Ring, Total Control).\u00a0 They quickly became part of the Melbourne scene joining such acts as Alex Leahey, The Goon Sax, Gabriella Cohen, and international acts such as Real Estate. RVG will ahead to the U.S. with three sold-out nights ahead in Melbourne starting tomorrow night.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/d31hzlhk6di2h5.cloudfront.net\/20180329\/a5\/19\/e2\/b3\/34d2c9230289cd0cabe27c5e_560x560.jpg?resize=280%2C280\" width=\"280\" height=\"280\" border=\"0\" \/>The eight songs on &#8216;A Quality of Mercy&#8217;\u00a0traverse through the myth of the tortured artist, the isolation of being trans, falling in love with a computer, the\u00a0feeling of awaiting your fate on death row. Each song brimming with wit, compassion and commitment, evident in Romy&#8217;s\u00a0delivery, her <em>&#8220;fierceness, her flow, and how clear it is she&#8217;s singing about what she knows&#8221;<\/em> (The Guardian). In her writing Vager moves beyond ego, beyond the simple confessional of the songwriter,\u00a0hoping to find perspective on both world and self. In such, these songs are at once personal and universal, intimate and grand,\u00a0timely and timeless.<\/p>\n<p>They&#8217;ve also announced their first ever European tour supporting Shame along with a performance at this year&#8217;s The Great Escape in Brighton, UK.
