The song is\u00a0accompanied by a music video (directed\u00a0by Theo Watkins), which you can watch via YouTube below.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/3CzNOD7ukMA?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-CA&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Singer Joe Talbot says of the track: \u201cLet<em> us go forward with open minds and open hearts into that fuck off fire we&#8217;ve started. Just love and a blue passport.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u2018Joy as an Act of Resistance\u2019 bluntly addresses everything from toxic masculinity, immigration, racism, nationalism + more. The band are able to channel those weighty subjects though pure positivity and even biting humor.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month IDLES also\u00a0announced an art exhibition\u00a0to celebrate the release of their album.<\/p>\n<p>Open for two days, between 12pm and 8pm,\u00a0and curated by the band, the exhibition will take place at:<\/p>\n<p>HM Electrics Gallery<br \/>\n65 Nile St.<br \/>\nLondon N1 7RD<\/p>\n<p>The gallery will contain 18 pieces of work across several mediums, with contributions from:<\/p>\n<p>Orlando Weeks<br \/>\nNigel Talbot<br \/>\nTao Lapsley<br \/>\nRussell Oliver<br \/>\nRobin Stewart<br \/>\nTom Ham<br \/>\nDapper Signs<br \/>\nChris Nicholls<br \/>\nEd Barrett<br \/>\nBeth Cater<\/p>\n<p>The gallery will be free entry and artwork on display\u00a0available to buy, with all proceeds going to the\u00a0Samaritans charity.<\/p>\n<p><em>Great<\/em> is the fourth song to be released from IDLES&#8217;s much-anticipated upcoming album &#8216;Joy As An Act Of Resistance.&#8217; Produced by Space and mixed by Adam Greenspan &amp; Nick Launay (Arcade Fire, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Kate Bush), The album\u00a0takes aim at everything from\u00a0nationalism and\u00a0immigration to\u00a0class inequality &#8211; all while maintaining a visceral, infectious positivity. Singer Joe Talbot summarises: <em>\u201cThis album is an attempt to be vulnerable to our audience and to encourage vulnerability; a brave naked smile in this shitty new world. We have stripped back the songs and lyrics to our bare flesh to allow each other to breathe, to celebrate our differences, and act as an ode to communities and the individuals that forge them.
