With their first studio record in four years,&nbsp;&#8216;Egowerk,&#8217; out tomorrow&nbsp;(Friday, March 15)&nbsp;via&nbsp;Saddle Creek, The Faint have shared an exclusive album stream with&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.talkhouse.com\/hear-first-the-faints-egowerk\/\">Talkhouse &#8216;Hear First<\/a>. Ahead of the album release, the band also revealed a palpitating, beat brazen single, <em>Quench The Flame. <\/em>Take a listen via YouTube below.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DflrsIXVN0c?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-CA&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite The Faint\u2019s nihilistic musings on&nbsp;&#8216;Egowerk,&#8217; Fink and drummer, Clark Baechle remain optimistic that things can improve if society is willing to absorb dueling perspectives. <em>\u201cThe more you learn about any issue, any issue at all, the more you understand that it&#8217;s more complicated than you think,\u201d<\/em> Fink says. <em>\u201cI&#8217;d like to see people less convinced that they&#8217;re right about everything all the time. I guess I think we&#8217;ll figure it out as time goes on.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As their work progressed in the \u201800s, The Faint became famous for their all-consuming live shows, where fans could channel all of their energy into jumping, leaping, and shouting in passionate tandem with the band. The guys, in turn, feed off of that energy. <em>\u201cI always think of the audience\u2014from what I can see beyond my mop of hair and the blinding lights\u2014as this buzzing hive of bees,\u201d<\/em> says bassist Michael \u201cDapose\u201d Dappen of the live show experience. <em>\u201cAll trying to dance in their socially allowed spaces, vibrating into this wave of heat. The heat is what always gives me this excited energy to play harder. Like when you\u2019re in a sauna.
