The\u00a0claustrophobic, metallic\u00a0visuals were\u00a0filmed by Hana Bouhired and\u00a0<em>&#8220;influenced by the 1990s work of art-house Ukrainian director &#8211; Oleg Luzhny&#8221;<\/em>. Continuing their fruitful studio partnership with Girl Band\u2019s Daniel Fox, on <em>Pink Tide<\/em>, they lay waste to easy pigeonholing and strike out on their own, furrowing a path laced with deadpan humour and some sick twin lead guitar lines. Earlier this summer, the band supported shoegaze titans Ride on their Irish tour dates. Smith Eats His Purple Crayon&#8217;. In the end, we realised that the riff deserved better, and we started writing what eventually became Pink Tide.&#8221;<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While no less frenetic than their previous barn-burners <em>Dunkirk<\/em> and <em>Just In The Band,<\/em> <em>Pink Tide<\/em> is an altogether more considered affair. Over a steady chug, vocalist Daniel O\u2019Kelly doles out tales of a slow unravelling of fashionable and futile revolutions in a land drowning in pomp and circumstance. In keeping with the spirit of the band, interlocking guitars hook the audience in for the chorus.\u00a0<em>\u201cMake way for the guards!\u201d<\/em>\u00a0he shouts, in mock reverence for time honoured traditions, followed immediately with a derisive\u00a0<em>\u201cThey&#8217;re nothing to me\u201d<\/em>. The spark that threatens to ignite throughout the duration of tune finally catches fire as Peadar Kearney and Kilian O\u2019Kelly\u2019s guitars lock horns over a kinetic backbeat to drive the song home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After garnering support from the likes of NME, Stereogum, Paste, BBC 6 Music\u2019s Steve Lamacq and more for their previous output and playing with the likes of Fontaines DC, The Lemonheads, and Just Mustard,\u00a0the band are now completing sessions for their debut album and the stage is set for Silverbacks to make their break out of their homeland and bring their inimitable brand of sinewy, groove flecked rock \u2018n\u2019 roll further afield.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>See Silverbacks live:<\/strong><br>July 21st &#8211; KnockanStockan Festival, Ireland<br>October 18th-20th &#8211; S\u0175n Festival, UK<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\"><p>Dublin-based five-piece Silverbacks have returned with a video for new single Pink Tide.
