They have just announced that there will be a record release show at\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/goodeyerecords.us3.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=9d35e3418b05f5078ca555fd2&amp;id=413e4dc95d&amp;e=9ab2719af1\" target=\"_blank\">St. Vitus w\/ Bambara<\/a>. Listen to the single via Soundcloud below. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"100%\" height=\"166\" src=\"https:\/\/w.soundcloud.com\/player\/?url=https%3A\/\/api.soundcloud.com\/tracks\/672923615&amp;color=%23ff5500&amp;auto_play=false&amp;hide_related=false&amp;show_comments=true&amp;show_user=true&amp;show_reposts=false&amp;show_teaser=true\"><\/iframe><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Russian Baths fuses the abrasive sounds of &#8217;80s New York, the angular outbursts of DC hardcore, shoegaze&#8217;s torrents of noise and the suffocating anxiety of the Information Age. Their operation goes deep. One part horror movie soundtrack, serene still life and personal confession, the band&#8217;s music is at once imposing and intimate. As with their namesake, Russian Baths&#8217; work is a place where hidden things happen, sometimes beautiful, sometimes tragic, always obscured, but calling to be explored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Russian Baths&#8217; forthcoming debut album,&nbsp;<em>Deepfake<\/em>, takes their art of juxtaposition to its extreme. Feedback and dissonance swallow softly whispered harmonies. Granular synths and 808s rest besides guitar shrieks and pounding, live drums. Caustic fits are punctuated by moments of relief, tortured the next second. Surgical imagery, themes of personal regret and cultural guilt, reflections on systems in collapse and the accompanying anomie populate the soundscape, sung by voices sometimes so close, they&#8217;re in the room besides you, sometimes from an impossible distance. Unlike their dissonant peers, in only one section do the proceedings lead to a scream.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recorded and assembled over the course of two of years and meticulously mixed by Ben Greenberg,&nbsp;<em>Deepfake&nbsp;<\/em>is dense, dark and finely crafted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Russian Baths is Jess Rees (guitar, vocals) and Luke Koz (guitar, vocals), joined live by Kyle Garvey (bass) and Steven Levine (drums) from Brooklyn, NY.
