The video clip recalls the quirky joy and beauty created by\u00a0Oliver Postgate\u00a0and\u00a0Vernon Elliot,\u00a0albeit delivered from the mushroom laden fields of rural Lancashire. Chainmail<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Formed in school by\u00a0Jay Stansfield\u00a0and\u00a0Karl Eden (vocals \/ guitars \/ synths)\u00a0and\u00a0Mark Tattersall (drums \/ machines \/ tapes),\u00a0they\u00a0started scraping together aural weirdness on a broken four track tape machine, which led to an experimental approach to making skewed pop.\u00a0The trio went through several name mutations, but in the late 1990\u2019s they were called Element and sent a hand-coloured designed cassette through the letterbox of\u00a0Douglas MacIntryre\u00a0at\u00a0Creeping Bent H.Q.\u00a0in Mount Florida, Glasgow which at the time boasted a roster of Alan Vega &amp; Revolutionary Corps of Teenage Jesus,\u00a0The Leopards,\u00a0The Nectarine No9, The Secret Goldfish, and Adventures in Stereo. Douglas MacIntyre tells the story:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cWe were really too busy with the artists we were already working with to sign anyone as we were receiving considerable attention and all of our groups were recording\u00a0BBC Radio 1 Peel Sessions.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>However, Transelement got their pop hooks in me and it was agreed a track would be released on the\u00a0Creeping Bent Singles Club. The track\u00a0Lord Aparts was immediately picked up by Peel and other turned-on members of the media.\u00a0My craving could not be satisfied and it was decided to release a mini-album, \u2018Sour Blaster\u2019,\u00a0which started connecting with a growing audience of weirdoids.\u00a0The group were assembling and amassing a considerable number of songs all recorded on their faulty 4 track machine. An album was scheduled for release by us in 2001, but sadly was never released for various reasons too abstract to deconstruct here.
