Ahead of the LP, they\u2019ve shared the single\u00a0<em>Love Sports<\/em>. This follows up their most recent singles for\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/Aqb-FsgNj2c\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Hidden Parks<\/em><\/a> and\u00a0<em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Sweet\u00a0Sunday Snow (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/wI9aY_l8n18\" target=\"_blank\">Sweet\u00a0Sunday Snow<\/a><\/em>, complete with remixes. They boast a sublime mixture of dreampop, subtle shoegaze and beautiful electronica, blissfully topped off with shimmering layered male-female vocals in tandem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2018Empty Parks\u2019 was produced and mixed by\u00a0John McEntire (Tortoise, The Sea and Cake, Stereolab, Broken Social Scene, Teenage Fanclub)<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>at\u00a0Soma Electronic Music Studios\u00a0in Nevada City, California, and mastered by 21 time Estonian Music Award winner\u00a0Lauri<strong> <\/strong>Liivak. It was recorded in two separate kitchens and a windowless basement, as well as bassist Reijo Tagapere&#8217;s barn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>&#8220;This is the poppiest album we&#8217;ve ever made. It&#8217;s melancholy and happy at the same time &#8211; definitely happier than our latest &#8216;Field Ceremony&#8217; album. To work with John McEntire was my teenage wet dream. \u00a0I have been a massive fan of John&#8217;s work over the years, and I never thought that one day I have a chance to sit next to this guy and make my own record. Of course, it was quite challenging and stressful for me,&#8221; <\/em>says frontman\u00a0Rein Fuks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>&#8220;Although the process of making this album wasn&#8217;t been the easiest, I associate this album relates mostly with the feeling of happiness and positivism. The awareness of being able to be hopeful and make jokes about life even if everything seems to going downhill,&#8221;<\/em> says vocalist\u00a0Eve Komp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The band&#8217;s most recent album\u00a0&#8216;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/piafraus.bandcamp.com\/album\/field-ceremony\" target=\"_blank\">Field Ceremony<\/a>&#8216;\u00a0was released in 2018 via\u00a0Shelflife Records\u00a0(USA),\u00a0Vinyl Junkie Recordings\u00a0(Japan), and their own imprint\u00a0Seksound\u00a0(EU). Some highlights of the 21 years since the band formed include working with\u00a0Teenage Fanclub&#8217;s Norman Blake, who produced their 2008 album\u00a0&#8216;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/piafraus.bandcamp.com\/album\/after-summer\" target=\"_blank\">After Summer<\/a>&#8216;, and the 7&#8243; vinyl split single\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/piafraus.bandcamp.com\/album\/mute-the-birds-7-single\" target=\"_blank\">&#8216;Mute The Birds \/ Ships Will Sail&#8217; with Ulrich Schnaus<strong>s<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Their music has been remixed by a vast array of recognized artists, including\u00a0Vanishing Twin, His Name Is Alive, Teenage Fanclub, Ulrich Schnauss, Hood, Mark Peters, Airiel, Mahogany, Lightships, Picnic, Wolfredt, Jatun, Bill Wells, Guther, Miwon, Fleckfumie, Mondii, Future Pilot Aka, Seeland, International Airport, Galaktlan, and<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Pastacas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Drummer\u00a0Joosep<strong> <\/strong>Volk<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>adds, <em>&#8220;Personally, Empty Parks means a lot. It&#8217;s sort of a homecoming to me. 16 years has past since I last played with the rest of the group and when Rein asked me to return, I never thought twice. Understanding that sometimes things do fall apart and you just have to pick yourself up and deal with it. Life is deviously clever, we just have to endure.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The &#8216;Empty Parks&#8217; LP released\u00a0on January 20\u00a0by Seksound (worldwide) and on Vinyl Junkie in Japan.
