UK indie-electronic band Metronomy have released an Amazon Original track titled Up, Higher<\/em>.<\/strong> The song, which was originally recorded for their critically acclaimed 2019 album \u2018<\/em>Metronomy <\/em>Forever\u2019 but didn\u2019t make the album cut is now available to stream and purchase exclusively on Amazon Music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cUp, Higher was one of the first tracks written for \u2018Metronomy Forever,\u2018 then it was culled from the final selection! Which seems strange now as it\u2019s such a jam,\u201d <\/em>says the band\u2019s founder Joseph Mount. \u201cIt was a track we played live on our last US tour, so it\u2019s nice to have it out there in the world now.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Born out of the mind of Joseph Mount, Metronomy has evolved from an early 2000s teenage bedroom project into a critically-acclaimed indie electronic staple. The band\u2019s breakout 2008 album Nights Out<\/em> has been called the \u201csoundtrack to a generation of freshers,\u201d<\/em> by NME who said it \u201cwas proof that indie, pop and electronic music could exist outside the clatterings of nu-rave.\u201d<\/em> Last year, they released their sixth studio album \u2018Metronomy Forever\u2019 to the lauding of many, including Pitchfork who said \u201cWith Mount, content to simply get in his groove, the casual approach gives rise to some of Metronomy\u2019s best songs in years\u201d<\/em> and Paste Magazine, who said \u201c20 years into their career, Metronomy are as strong as ever.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
