Netting comparisons to\u00a0Flying Lotus and Squarepusher at their most glitchy extremes, Iuliano frames the album as a commentary on making art in the midst of late stage capitalism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;I felt the structure of the tracks and the fact that my music is kind of frantic (as a lot of people tell me) reflect the concept of internalized capitalism and of the accelerated fruition of art and entertainment of these times,&#8221;<\/em> Iuliano adds about the album.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/gallery.mailchimp.com\/bc31868377c214862493bdd83\/_compresseds\/9265f090-55a0-41b1-a9be-eef058e91127.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"The Delay In The Universal Loop Inner Capitalism album cover\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018Inner Capitalism\u2019 is out now via Bulbless! Records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Delay In The Universal Loop\u00a0is the solo project of Italian producer Dylan Iuliano. Since releasing his debut on Jestrai in 2012, Iuliano left high school to tour internationally alongside\u00a0Fennesz\u00a0and\u00a0Shigeto, net features along the way from Noisey, THUMP, and MXDWN, and serve as an art director for Benevento-based electronic arts festival 404: SPACE NOT FOUND.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the four year span between albums,\u00a0\u2018Inner Capitalism\u2019\u00a0took shape quickly last year as Iuliano realized he wanted to make an album that simulated the dopamine-fueled, fantastical escape that internet culture provides from everyday life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;<em>The album title refers to internalized forms of capitalism and the ways they affect mental health,&#8221;<\/em> says Iuliano. &#8220;<em>It&#8217;s like an inner parasite that makes you feel unworthy for believing the things you believe in, for being who you are beyond superstructures&#8230; the album is about exorcising all that anxiety in a way that was fun for me.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fittingly, \u2018Inner Capitalism\u2019 operates like an endless scroll into the murkier parts of the internet, resulting in some of the most sonically widespread Delay songs to date. Single <em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Drag Cop (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"http:\/\/cultureaddicts.com\/drag-cop\/\" target=\"_blank\">Drag Cop<\/a><\/em> is, according to Iuliano, &#8220;<em>the sum of my love for synthwave, synth pop, and pop punk,&#8221;<\/em> which seems like a hodgepodge before considering the Flying Lotus-esque breakdown on <em>RGB<\/em>\u00a0and chirpy glitch hop worship of <em>Coincidence.exe<\/em> preceding it on the album.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I felt the structure of the tracks and the fact that my music is kind of frantic (as a lot of people tell me) reflect the concept of internalized capitalism and of the accelerated fruition of art and entertainment of these times,&#8221; Iuliano concludes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\"><p>Italian producer\u00a0The Delay In The Universal Loop\u00a0has shared a technicolor video for Coincidence.exe.
