Peaking Lights will be releasing a new album \u2018E S C A P E\u2019 slated to be out in May 2020 via Dekmantel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since the release of their Stones Throw debut album\u00a0\u2018Signal\u2019\u00a0in September, Automatic has soundtracked Hedi Slimane\u2019s Paris Fashion Week show for C\u00e9line, toured the USA, and opened for legendary post-punk band Bauhaus\u2019 reunion shows at the Hollywood Palladium.\u00a0\u2018Signal\u2019 was chosen as an album of the year by Norman Records and Resident Music, who described it as\u00a0<em>\u201cinventive, enticing and new\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Automatic, composed of Izzy Glaudini (synths, vocals), Lola Domp\u00e9 (drums, vocals) and Halle Saxon (bass, vocals), worked with producer and engineer Joo Joo Ashworth of FROTH for the album.\u00a0\u2018Signal\u2018\u00a0ties together the band\u2019s taste for dub reggae, motorik rhythms and gnarly synth work inspired by bands like NEU! and Suicide with the eerie atmosphere of films by auteurs like David Lynch and Dario Argento, to capture what it&#8217;s like to feel at an angle to the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Peaking Lights\u2019 Aaron Coyes said about the remix:\u00a0<em>\u201cWe were excited to have the opportunity to do a remix for Automatic. We\u2019ve been friends with them for a while, Izzy babysat our kids and we are great friends with Lola\u2019s older sister Diva. They have something great going, it was super hard to pick a song so we approached Stones Throw with four songs and the idea to do a remix EP, the music is fucking rad, we couldn\u2019t pick just one. Alas Stones Throw was like, just do \u2018Calling It\u2019. We were eased by that as it was impossible to pick one. Automatic will keep making amazing songs, and we\u2019ll keep listening.
