Watch it via YouTube below. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/EBAxCzj4fvM?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-CA&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Scottibrains<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>is the enigmatic, elusive four-piece who formed through a love of late night \/ early morning jams at band founder, producer Dan Carey\u2019s Speedy Wunderground Studios in Streatham, South London.\u00a0<br><br>Made up of record producer Carey (Kate Tempest, Bat For Lashes, black midi, Fontaines DC), producer Oli Bayston (Boxed In, George Fitzgerald, Teleman, Petite Noir), drummer Liam Hutton (Boxed In, Edwyn Collins, Kate Tempest) and Oli\u2019s wife Beth Buxton \u2013 they previously put out the 4th single on Carey\u2019s Speedy Wunderground label, the motorik psych-kraut wig-out \u2018Keep Your Eyes Open Boy\u2019 back in August 2013.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their second release and the 23rd\u00a0single on the label &#8211; <em>Sustained Threat<\/em> \u2013 was a full-on assault of the senses based on a Shepard tone sound \u2013 a tone that \u2018<em>creates the audio illusion of a tone that continually ascends in pitch yet which ultimately seems to get no higher or lower.<\/em>\u2019 The title itself came from a BBFC regulation Bayston saw at the start of a film warning that there would be <em>Sustained Threat<\/em> in the film. It seemed apt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their 3rd release for the label\u00a0&#8211; a digital-only single, following in the footsteps of Black Country, New Road\u2019s 9-minute opus <em>Sunglasses<\/em>\u2013 the first ever digital-only single for the label, will be the powerful live\u00a0fan favourite<strong> <\/strong><em>Aristorats<\/em>. Produced as always by label boss Dan Carey \u2013 it was mixed by his 15-year old daughter, Orla \u2013 proving the apple doesn\u2019t fall that far from the tree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<em>We had this amazing concept for the video\u201d<\/em> says Carey, \u201c<em>but obviously in the current climate \u2013 we couldn\u2019t do it \u2013 so we made it this way instead,\u00a0all of us remotely. However, rest assured, when this all blows over \u2013 we will make that video.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their live shows are incendiary, provocative and volatile experiences, pummeling rhythm sections, blitzkrieg guitars, with Buxton\u2019s deranged half spoken \/ half shouting frenetic mantras over the top \u2013 these legendary outings are fast becoming the talk of underground folklore \u2013 a mass of sweat and bodies, 3 or 4 songs stretched out over 40 blistering strung out minutes amidst a sea of smoke and lasers.<br><br>Prepare to be beamed up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fresh from Carey winning\u00a0\u2019UK Producer Of The Year\u2019\u00a0at this year\u2019s prestigious Music Producers Guild Awards, beating the likes of Nigel Godrich \u2013 Speedy have definitely been keeping themselves busy, continually proving they are the most essential label out there,\u00a0with releases already this year from PVA, Ti\u00f1a and last week\u2019s seminal debut single from Hebden Bridge&#8217;s The Lounge Society\u00a0\u2013 the label\u2019s fastest ever selling 7\u201d and only repress since the debut single from black midi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On top of that in these turbulent times they\u2019ve just announced details of their\u00a0\u2018Quarantine Series\u2019.
