{"id":35130,"date":"2020-10-26T12:15:00","date_gmt":"2020-10-26T16:15:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cultureaddicts.com\/?p=35130"},"modified":"2023-04-07T10:06:39","modified_gmt":"2023-04-07T14:06:39","slug":"prismatics-share-video-for-outside-looking","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cultureaddicts.com\/?p=35130","title":{"rendered":"Prismatics share video for \u2018Outside Looking\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Missouri-based four-piece&nbsp;Prismatics&nbsp;have announced their upcoming EP,&nbsp;\u2018Endlessly,\u2019 with the premiere of a&nbsp;Night of the Living Dead-inspired video for&nbsp;first single <em>Outside Looking<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The track is a barreling opening statement, charged with Austen\u2019s ethereal delivery that matches Stenberg and Bossi\u2019s thrumming rhythmic build.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cInitially, I had escapism on my mind,\u201d<\/em> Austen adds. <em>\u201cI wanted to write a summer road trip song for those of us who have spent a lot of time living vicariously through others. When travel became impossible this year, a different perspective was born out of a real sense of physical, rather than purely emotional, isolation. Prismatics are vocalist\/keyboardist Brooke Austen, guitarist\/vocalist Josh Clark, bassist\/vocalist Jo Bossi, and drummer Ben Stenberg. Earlier this year, the band planned to record the follow-up to their 2018 debut&nbsp;\u2018New Emotion\u2019 when coronavirus hit the world.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cMuch of the songwriting process began shortly before the pandemic took place,\u201d<\/em> Austen recalls. <em>\u201cWhen the time came to record, we found ourselves miles away from each other and operating remotely.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Relying on a self-described Frankenstein\u2019s monster of recording setups, the band had no choice but to try recording separately from their homes.
