The song follows <em><a href=\"http:\/\/cultureaddicts.com\/zilched-shares-velcro-dog-video-announces-doompop-lp\/\">Velcro Dog<\/a><\/em> lifted from debut album&nbsp;\u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/girlieaction.us1.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=1d59aca4aeedaab429816159e&amp;id=41bb51dda9&amp;e=3a430a552a\">DOOMPOP<\/a>\u2019&nbsp;&#8211; out now via&nbsp;Young Heavy Souls. Like <em>Velcro Dog<\/em>, <em>Sixteen<\/em> is buoyed by the dynamic between Drallos\u2019 sweeping grunge guitars and frequent collaborator&nbsp;Nick Russo\u2019s&nbsp;frantic drumwork. \u201c<em>It\u2019s more or less about questioning both what marks a loss of innocence, and the like obsessive purgatory of waiting for your life to start,<\/em>\u201d Drallos says. Drallos explains,&nbsp;<em>\u201cIt\u2019s an honest reflection of my attempts to grow up and make sense of absurdity. I wrote the first song in my last month of highschool at 18 and finished recording\/producing just a month after my 20th birthday. With these songs I wanted to go as deep into my insecurities and confusion, however immature I felt. Just write what I felt when I felt it in order to move on.\u201d<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Drallos has been making music as Zilched since the summer of 2017. Her debut EP&nbsp;\u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/girlieaction.us1.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=1d59aca4aeedaab429816159e&amp;id=923ea773e9&amp;e=3a430a552a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pulling Teeth<\/a>\u2019&nbsp;was released in 2018 and provided the first glimpse of Zilched\u2019s dizzying, wildly unpredictable noise-pop. In the buildup to&nbsp;\u2018<em>DOOMPOP<\/em>,\u2019 Zilched released <a href=\"https:\/\/girlieaction.us1.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=1d59aca4aeedaab429816159e&amp;id=a32ba45fb7&amp;e=3a430a552a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Sleeper<\/em><\/a> earlier this year, following <a href=\"https:\/\/girlieaction.us1.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=1d59aca4aeedaab429816159e&amp;id=960b692b4d&amp;e=3a430a552a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>The Morning<\/em><\/a> and <em><a href=\"https:\/\/girlieaction.us1.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=1d59aca4aeedaab429816159e&amp;id=1be27d44ef&amp;e=3a430a552a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Blue Doom<\/a><\/em> in 2019.
