A melding of hypnotic rhythms and densely layered synth soundscapes,<strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>\u2018Dream Weapon\u2019 was recorded and produced alongside long-time collaborator Kurt Ballou at God City Studio in Salem, Massachusetts, with additional production and engineering by Ben Chisholm (Chelsea Wolfe), JJ Heath (Rain City Recorders) and was mastered by Heba Kadry.\u00a0Lyrically and conceptually, \u2018Dream Weapon\u2019\u00a0picks up where 2008&#8217;s heralded LP\u00a0\u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/ymlps6.com\/06c15ehqwbaxaewsqwaxaqesacawjbu\/click.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Board Up The House<\/a>\u2019 left off.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cThat album\u2019s closing track, Relief, was about how humans have become a burden to the planet, and how Earth will endure long after we\u2019re gone,\u201d<\/em><strong> <\/strong>Jordan\u00a0explains.<em>\u00a0\u201cThere is sadness at the end, but some relief\u2014and beauty\u2014too. \u2018Dream Weapon\u2019 is, loosely, an album-length meditation on that theme.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0From the ethereal, almost robotic vocal phrasings accompanying the industrial attack of <em>Pyrocene<\/em>, to the chaotic, pulse-pounding drumming acrobatics and cyclical guitar patterns in the album\u2019s triumphant title track, \u2018Dream Weapon\u2019\u00a0is not just a nod to\u00a0Genghis Tron\u2019s\u00a0celebrated past as a metal\/progressive\/experimental outfit. The new album redefines what these genres, sounds, and musical elements can achieve.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018Dream Weapon\u2019\u00a0is a record that captures\u00a0Genghis Tron\u00a0at a matured, focused state; the ebbs and flows of the album are just as hard-hitting as they are dreamy, soaring, and meditative.\u00a0Seasoned\u00a0Genghis Tron\u00a0listeners will find\u00a0\u2018Dream Weapon\u2019 to be both excitingly fresh and reassuringly familiar.<em>\u00a0\u201cThough it sounds a bit different than our previous albums, I don&#8217;t think we approached Dream Weapon any differently than the others,\u201d<\/em><strong> <\/strong>Jordan<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>explains.<em>\u00a0\u201cMichael and I take years to write and trade demos, with about 80% of our ideas landing on the cutting-room floor.
