The life and legacy of\u00a0Lil BUB, the world\u2019s most cherished cat, will be celebrated with the release of\u00a0\u2018Lil BUB: The Earth Years,<\/em><\/strong>\u2019 a hand-numbered, limited-edition, 376-page coffee table book releasing\u00a0April 23 via Melodic Virtue. It includes exclusive 7\u201d record,\u00a0Transmissions From Space<\/em>, (featuring two new pieces composed by Lil BUB herself, from her intergalactic afterlife). The artful docu-journal was lovingly compiled by her \u201cdude\u201d Mike Bridavsky and features beautiful photos and a complete chronological, biographical commentary about her extraordinary life as well as an intro from\u00a0Jackson Galaxy, foreword by\u00a0Steve Albini, and exclusive quotes from\u00a0Whoopi Goldberg,\u00a0Jack Black, El-P\u00a0(Run The Jewels),\u00a0Andrew W.K.,\u00a0Thurston Moore\u00a0(Sonic Youth),\u00a0Kimya Dawson, David Yow\u00a0(The Jesus Lizard),\u00a0Aesop Rock, and more. The casebound, 9\u201dx9\u201d book is limited to 3500 numbered copies (3000 standard, 500 deluxe edition), with the deluxe versions signed by Mike Bridavsky and artist Aaron Tanner and packaged inside a silver-embossed slipcase paired with a full colour 7\u201d picture disc of the music (standard edition contains regular black vinyl). Sharing his thoughts about both her life and the book release, Lil BUB\u2019s former caretaker\/owner, Mike Bridavsky, states, \u201cEver since BUB landed on Earth back in the summer of 2011, she has brought immeasurable positivity, hope, and happiness to millions of people all over our planet. Since the moment I took the first photo of BUB’s remarkable face, I’ve had the dream of making a deluxe coffee table photo book featuring her photographs. And as with all things BUB, everything came together serendipitously after she departed back into space and our longtime friend and collaborator Aaron Tanner (who was responsible for designing BUB’s website, and most of her merchandise) began designing and manufacturing coffee table books for notable bands. A celebrity in her own right, Lil BUB\u2019s endearing story and overwhelming charisma cemented her in both pop culture and digital legend. Found in a toolshed as a feral kitten, she was the first cat in recorded history born with osteopetrosis, an extraordinarily rare bone condition. Additionally, she had an underdeveloped jaw (causing her tongue to perpetually protrude), no teeth, polydactyly (extra toes\/claws), and enormous green eyes. Weeks after rescuing her, Bridavsky shared BUB\u2019s story online and soon her unique appearance and undeniable magic connected with a global audience, garnering millions of fans while raising awareness and hundreds of thousands of dollars for adoptable pets worldwide.

During her inspiring and influential life, Lil BUB hosted her own talk show, was the subject of\u00a0VICE\u2019s\u00a0Lil BUB & Friendz\u00a0(<\/em>an award-winning, feature-length documentary), starred in her own\u00a0Animal Planet\u00a0primetime television special, recorded the\u00a0Billboard\u00a0chart-topping album\u00a0Science & Magic<\/em>, was a published author, and represented many animal advocacy organizations such as\u00a0HSUS, ASPCA, and\u00a0Best Friends Animal Society.
