The song is a sideways look at the widespread tyranny that exists within human power structures. The single is the second to be taken from their\u00a0forthcoming EP\u00a0\u2018Of Self,\u2019 which will be released\u00a0on June 18, 2021\u00a0via Neoprima Music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Commenting on the themes behind the track, the band said:\u00a0<em>&#8220;Tutankhamun is a brutal look at ruthless leaders on a broad spectrum. It takes ideologies and tyrannical occurrences to a face-value and over-exaggerated stand point, labelling them as they are and not what they seem to be. Stopping at nothing, the protagonist in the lyrics will do anything to make himself more powerful, ruling \u2018I\u2019ll kill your husband if it means that you\u2019ll abide\u2019. It&#8217;s a clear over-exaggeration, with a hint of an almost numbing feeling towards the consequences of his actions.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The single comes accompanied with a\u00a0chaotic live video that gives a thrilling insight into what a live show from The Liars Club might look and feel like when venue doors are once again thrown open. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;The video is compiled from footage of our last hometown gig at Barrow Underground Music Society (affectionately known as BUMS),\u201d<\/em>\u00a0say the band.\u00a0<em>\u201cAll the footage was taken by a fan in the audience and edited by film maker Reco Real.\u201d<\/em> Watch the live video clip via YouTube below. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-FVfdVjrG3w?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-CA&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s a typical example of The Liars Club\u2019s high energy live performances which often see their vocalist, Noah Johnson, take his intense energy into the mosh pit to engage with the audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cIt always stirs a great response where the audience becomes totally connected with the band,\u201d<\/em>&nbsp;they say.&nbsp;<em>\u201cNoah\u2019s random ventures off stage can happen at any time and create a great sense of euphoria within the crowd. This can cause a shock when, on rare occasions, first timers to a \u2018Liars\u2019 gig experience Noah\u2019s crowd visit on the very first song&#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The band\u2019s forthcoming second EP\u00a0\u2018Of Self\u2019 is the follow-up to their much-hyped 2018 debut EP\u00a0\u2018Dormant,\u2019 with recently-released lead single <em><a href=\"http:\/\/cultureaddicts.com\/the-liars-club-share-new-single-8-tonne\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" title=\"The Liars Club share new single \u20188 Tonne\u2019\">8 Tonne<\/a><\/em> picking up a flurry of early support from\u00a0GIGWISE, Vive Le Rock, Under The Radar, Maximum Volume,\u00a0and\u00a0The Punk Site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Liars Club live dates<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>24.06.21\u00a0&#8211; Ulverston &#8211; The Sun, Basement<br>02.07.21 &#8211; Manchester &#8211; The Castle<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>More about The Liars Club<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Returning to Wolverhampton\u2019s Magic Garden Studios in February 2020, the band reunited with\u00a0\u2018Dormant\u2019 producer Gavin Monaghan (The Blinders, Goldblade) intent on channeling the fury of their fast-becoming-legendary mosh pits at Barrow\u2019s Underground Music Society (more affectionately known as B.U.M.S), with the band riding a wave of support from Huw Stephens (BBC R1) and Tom Robinson (BBC 6music), and spending several weeks on the Amazing Radio A List.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<em>Because the studio was familiar our chemistry was even stronger,\u201d<\/em> says Johnson. \u201c<em>It\u2019s the sound of us having a good time, letting go and escaping our normality.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stoking the fires of creativity from the band\u2019s den above their local high street record shop, TNT Records, Johnson (Vox), Daniel Milmine (Guitar), Frank Kendall (Bass) and Matt Southwell (Drums) pull positivity from the bleakest corners of the UK. \u201c<em>Barrow made us, so we don\u2019t hate it; we deal with it,\u201d<\/em> says Johnson. \u201c<em>We\u2019re just four working class lads making an honest living in \u2018the man\u2019 industries which fund many lives in our town, but as soon as we\u2019re on stage we become what we want to be\u2026we\u2019re accomplishing our dreams.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hot on the heels of fellow noise punk bands like&nbsp;Viagra Boys, Squid, Black Midi, TV Priest, Chubby and The Gang and Daughters, and as combustible as 1970s punk-rock heroes The Ruts, their merciless swathes of new age punk is nothing if not brutally honest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fuelled by the calibration of each member\u2019s genre-spanning influences the band equally share the restlessness of Noah\u2019s love for jazz and soul as the bounce of Dan\u2019s appreciation for hip-hop and rock. \u201c<em>We\u2019ve built our music tastes by just enjoying what we like and appreciating those we may not. There\u2019s no limit, no stopping point; new music comes out all the time and lies waiting for someone to dig it.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whether targeting austerity, physical and mental abuse in relationships, or \u201c<em>the never-ending repetition of culturalism in modern day society,\u201d<\/em> their material to date demonstrates a band wholly aware of humanity\u2019s ignorance to the things it doesn\u2019t wish to hear about, whilst simultaneously recognising its existence and having a whole lot of fun in the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<em>We like music to make you feel something.
