{"id":37576,"date":"2021-11-20T12:15:00","date_gmt":"2021-11-20T17:15:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cultureaddicts.com\/?p=37576"},"modified":"2021-11-19T08:05:19","modified_gmt":"2021-11-19T13:05:19","slug":"life-share-new-single-friends-without-names","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cultureaddicts.com\/?p=37576","title":{"rendered":"LIFE share new single \u2018Friends Without Names\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>LIFE\u00a0have returned with new track <em>Friends Without Names<\/em> \u2013 a shapeshifting first glimpse from their third album due next year.\u00a0The track was premiered by Steve Lamacq on BBC 6 Music last night and is available to stream everywhere now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recorded in the dead of night with producer\u00a0Luke Smith\u00a0in a Chapel below Hull, the track hums with a dark, brooding and passionate atmosphere. Vocalist Mez Green performed the trance-like vocals whilst Luke conducted the band in the round inside of the Chapel\u2019s walls\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cFriends Without Names is the anchor and blueprint for our next record. In a remote part of Eastern England, close to the river Humber, we performed this track as if we were in trance; vibrating in a constant musical crescendo. Our aim was to push ourselves and harness differing time zones whilst giving in to the moments of beauty, horror, love and chaos depicted by the song\u2019s lyrics.\u201d<\/em> Watch the lyric video for <em>Friends Without Names<\/em> via YouTube below. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/aZkBwvEx1uM?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-CA&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>When the pandemic gripped the world in March 2020, LIFE were still in the midst of promoting their acclaimed second album \u2013\u00a0A Picture Of Good Health (Sept 2019); they had just completed an arena support tour with\u00a0Kaiser Chiefs in the UK, a triumphant main stage appearance at\u00a0Rockaway Beach\u00a0and flown to New York for\u00a0New Colossus Festival\u00a0ahead of a packed\u00a0SXSW\u00a0and a US tour with\u00a0IDLES. They scrambled home on the last plane back from New York\u00a0on 17th March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Picking up the pieces of their album campaign LIFE performed a series of live stream shows from their studio in Hull &#8211; the\u00a0Moon Factory\u00a0&#8211;<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>and published a community driven art and prose book that encouraged global collaboration during the pandemic whilst also embracing the time to write their next record which saw the band re-unite with producer\u00a0Luke Smith\u00a0(Foals, Everything Everything, Depeche Mode) and mixer\u00a0Claudius Mittendorfer\u00a0(Parquet Courts, Yak, Weezer).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>LIFE emerged back on stage this July before a tour for the Music Venue Trust\u2019s\u00a0Revive Live\u00a0campaign in September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their rescheduled UK tour from April 2020 is now taking place in November &amp; December 2021 and has been transformed into the start of a brand new album campaign, giving fans the first chance to hear the fruits of their labour during the pandemic ahead of the release in Summer 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>30 Nov\u00a0&#8211; Best Live Act\u00a0and\u00a0Best (Difficult) Second Album.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>In 2019, earning a reputation for their live performances, LIFE packed out festival stages and tents across the UK and Europe including\u00a0Glastonbury,\u00a0Latitude,\u00a0Kendal Calling,\u00a0Paleo Festival (CH),\u00a0Rock For the People (CZ),\u00a0Pukkelop (BE),\u00a0Best Kept Secret (NL)\u00a0and many more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore the band played a blistering\u00a0BBC Maida Vale\u00a0live session for Jack Saunders, put on a memorable album launch in a Camden kebab shop, supported\u00a0IDLES\u00a0on a sold out two-week tour before embarking on their own sold out headline tour through the UK and Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Internationally, they have showcased at<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>SXSW\u00a0twice and\u00a0Reeperbahn\u00a0(where they signed their publishing deal with Bucks Music) and\u00a0Nouvelle Prague and\u00a0France, they appeared on national TV &#8211;\u00a0Arte\u00a0&#8211;
