Out via\u00a0Mexican Summer, the album lands alongside the news of a full UK tour which is set to take place in Mar \/ Apr 2023 (full list of dates below).\u00a0<br><br>\u2018Shake The Feeling: Outtakes &amp; Rarities 2015-2021\u2019\u00a0is a collection of non-LP cuts (or \u201cmisfit children,\u201d as singer\u00a0Elias Bender R\u00f8nnenfelt\u00a0describes them) from the seven years during which Iceage made\u00a0\u2018Plowing Into the Field of Love\u2019\u00a0(2014),\u00a0\u2018Beyondless\u2019 (2018), and\u00a0\u2018Seek Shelter\u2019\u00a0(2021). A study in the powerful song form and raw execution that have defined the Danish rock \u2018n\u2019 roll band, this release digs deep into the Iceage vault for unheard and rare tracks that both devotees and the uninitiated alike will relish.<br><br>To celebrate the release of the new record, Iceage have shared a cover of Nico&#8217;s <em>I&#8217;ll Keep It With Mine<\/em>. Written and recorded back in 2015,\u00a0R\u00f8nnenfelt explains<em>\u00a0\u201cthis is the earliest recording on \u2018Shake The Feeling\u2019. I had recently visited Nico\u2019s grave in the woods outside of Berlin and this serves as our ode to her. We loved the result back then but didn\u2019t quite know where to put it.&#8221;<\/em> listen to the track via Spotify below. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-spotify wp-block-embed-spotify wp-embed-aspect-21-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Spotify Embed: I&amp;apos;ll Keep It with Mine\" style=\"border-radius: 12px\" width=\"100%\" height=\"152\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; fullscreen; picture-in-picture\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/embed\/track\/199Q2ZCjrgddXgUFvHG6X2?si=0ced1704cd5a4a88&#038;utm_source=oembed\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>As with all of Iceage\u2019s albums, whether it be the sensual daring-do of their dark-hardcore debut\u00a0\u2018You\u2019re Nothing,\u2019 the shift to cowpunk gothic romanticism on\u00a0\u2018Plowing Into the Field of Love,\u2019 or the space truckin\u2019 gospel-rock of their most recent albums, R\u00f8nnenfelt,\u00a0Johan Suurballe Wieth,\u00a0Jakob Tvilling Pless\u00a0and\u00a0Dan Kj\u00e6r Nielsen\u00a0make the impossible seem effortless. True to Iceage\u2019s confounding instincts, the songs of\u00a0<em>Shake The Feeling<\/em>\u00a0are presented in the order that makes most sense to them. The album proceeds to jump forward and backwards in time, with tracks written in the four years between\u00a0\u2018Plowing Into The Field of Love\u2019 and\u00a0\u2018Seek Shelter\u2019 colliding with covers of two 1960s songs (<em>I\u2019ll Keep It With Mine<\/em> by Bob Dylan and Abner Jay\u2019s <em>My Mule<\/em>).<br><br>As to whether\u00a0\u2018Shake The Feeling\u2019\u00a0has a dominant theme, Elias says: \u201c<em>not really, and then somehow yes.<\/em>\u201d \u201c<em>No, but also yes<\/em>\u201d is as perfect an encapsulation of an Iceage-ian ethos as there could ever be. More than just about any other band from Europe working within American rock \u2018n\u2019 roll traditions, Iceage maintain their initial embracement of the no-but-yes life-affirming negativity of punk and hardcore. Maybe Elias considers\u00a0\u2018Shake The Feeling\u2019 to be more a document of Iceage at different points of the members\u2019 young lives than a \u201c<em>piece of artwork<\/em>.\u201d Maybe the fact that the songs \u201cseem like they can get along\u201d is enough. Conversely, maybe the songs on\u00a0\u2018Shake the Feeling\u2019\u00a0work together as well as any band of outsiders, huddling alone together in the world\u2019s dark.
