The EP explores the complexities of human feelings like obsession, heartbreak, fear, anger, despair &amp; nostalgia, but still have the ability to ignite a dancefloor with instantly catchy hooks. The EP was produced by Hull\u2019s\u00a0\u201cKing of Electro\u201d\u00a0Endoflevelbaddie. This is a creative relationship that Jodie describes as an \u2018absolute dream\u2019, citing the producer\u2019s ability to transform a simple piece of lyricism into an evocative &amp; theatrical piece of music, as one of their many talents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Title track\u00a0<em>Chaos Of Time<\/em>\u00a0with its infectious electro-club beat, lyrically encapsulates the state of worry &amp; overthinking we can all trap ourselves in sometimes.\u00a0<em>\u201cIts incessant nature is inspired by Underworld\u2019s Born Slippy\u201d\u00a0<\/em>says Jodie<em>\u00a0\u201c&amp; like the 90s banger, I wanted it to feel like a stream of consciousness with an unsettling undertone to it\u201d<\/em>. It\u2019s about owning your emotions, feeling OK with vulnerability &amp; how that in turn makes you stronger\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dropping the tempo on\u00a0<em>Catching X<\/em>\u2019s, Jodie gets personal with a message to her father saying\u00a0<em>\u201cThe song tackles the subject of growing up with a warped sense of what a relationship really entails<\/em>.\u00a0<em>I&#8217;ve had a difficult, almost non-existent relationship with my father leaving me feeling unwanted. After years of heartache &amp; reflection, I now know that he does love me &amp; this is a cry for him to prove that\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Next up, the infectious\u00a0<em>Take Your Money<\/em>. Initially inspired by\u00a0<em>M.I.A.<\/em>\u2019s\u00a0<em>Paper Planes<\/em>about Sri Lanka\u2019s government oppression of the Tamils,\u00a0<em>Take Your Money<\/em>\u00a0challenges the UK\u2019s big decision makers &amp; how they oppress the less fortunate for their own gain through a lyric about defunding of the NHS &amp; how those who can&#8217;t afford private healthcare are left to suffer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The mid-tempo,\u00a0<em>Neighbourhood Watch<\/em>\u00a0is a journey of self-awareness &amp; the understanding of your own insecurity. Jodie explains:\u00a0<em>\u201cIt captures how I discovered mankind&#8217;s blossoming imperfections &amp; why I shouldn&#8217;t punish myself for not having the same qualities as others, like intelligence, appearance or social skills etc. I can often be my own bully which really messes with the judgement behind some of my life decisions\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To close the EP, Jodie\u2019s remixed her critically acclaimed debut single\u00a0<em>I Miss It<\/em>. Having felt the simplicity &amp; tone of the original was apt for the time when trying to get back on her feet after lockdown, the new version\u00a0<em>I (Still) Miss It<\/em>, has more purpose &amp; drive, so enabling her to up the energy at gigs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Describing herself as unapologetically Northern, passionate wordsmith\u00a0Jodie Langford\u00a0began writing &amp; performing at\u00a0The Warren Youth Centre\u00a0when she was 16 \u2013 but it was after a chance remix by\u00a0Endoflevelbaddie\u00a0of her track\u00a0Wet Newspaper Wishes\u00a0for the\u00a03 Minute Heroes\u00a0project, that the 2 began working closely together. Now writing &amp; performing as a team for the past 2 years, Jodie\u2019s presence on stage is totally electric, performing with a furious purpose &amp; always getting the crowd to sing along to her trademark hooks. Citing\u00a0<em>Loyle Carner<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Keaton Henson<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Mac DeMarco, Fontaines DC<\/em>\u00a0&amp;\u00a0<em>Slow Thai<\/em>\u00a0as recent points of inspiration, Jodie feels the EP has given her the opportunity to release tracks that come from a much more personal place than her previous output.\u00a0<em>\u201cThey might not be anthems\u201d\u00a0<\/em>she says\u00a0<em>\u201cbut they are close to my heart &amp; very special to me.
