This looming imagery of the <em>Demonbird<\/em> is portrayed on a stunning wall of LED panels from\u00a0LIMINAL space, who have created immersive 3D live visuals for\u00a0Flying Lotus, Primus\u00a0and many more. Some songs act as vessels of healing and forgiveness and others became a revenge fantasy.\u00a0Full of lush guitar, Nintendo-era synths and warped tape samples in reverse, the album holds space for what you wish you could have said, done or knew, while acknowledging a bittersweet nostalgia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What began as a solo project turned into much more when LA musician Adrian Acosta, trained as a\u00a0mariachi singer\u00a0by his established norte\u00f1o musician father, recruited other members from disparate upbringings in the worlds of underground punk, no wave, experimental jazz, and classical music training, from Craigslist and the local DIY music scene &#8211; Jessica Huang, Ray Montes, Nick Kelley &amp; Eric Fabbro.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From revived songs Acosta recorded on his karaoke tape deck when he was 10 years old, Draag released two critically\u00a0acclaimed EPs,\u00a0\u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/draagdraag.bandcamp.com\/album\/clara-luz\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Clara Luz<\/a>\u2019\u00a0(co-produced by Jon Nu\u00f1ez of Torche)\u00a0and\u00a0\u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/draagdraag.bandcamp.com\/album\/nontoxic-process\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Nontoxic Process<\/a>\u2019\u00a0ahead of this debut LP. Draag began to gain a reputation for their sonically immersive live shows in Los Angeles largely by word of mouth, transforming any range of DIY to high production stage into a wall of sound described as a storm in slow motion.
