Dynamite\u2019 album"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Courettes\u00a0(lead guitarist\/singer\u00a0Flavia Couri\u00a0and drummer\u00a0Martin Couri) are an explosive (husband and wife) rock duo from Denmark and Brazil who have\u00a0been touring nonstop throughout Europe since 2015, bringing their\u00a0perfect blend of garage rock, 60s Girl Groups, Wall of Sound, surf music and doo wop\u00a0to the delight of any audience even remotely interested in rock \u2018n\u2019 roll.\u00a0Now, the\u00a0\u201c<em>hardest working band in showbiz\u201d<\/em>\u00a0will tour the USA for the first time.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To coincide with their first US shows, and as an introduction to the band, a special US\/Canada-only compilation,\u00a0\u2018Boom! Dynamite (An Introduction To The Fabulous Courettes),\u2019\u00a0will be released\u00a0May 12th. The duo has released four fantastic albums on the legendary label\u00a0Damaged Goods Records, each one praised by magazines such as\u00a0<em>MOJO\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>Shindig!,\u00a0<\/em>most notably the\u00a0\u2018Back In Mono\u2019\u00a0album in 2021, a true milestone in their career\u00a0and featured in countless Best Albums of 2021 lists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This new compilation, released exclusively for the\u00a0US, guides you through their albums from the very beginning, from the early raw power garage rock onto their present Spector\/Levine Wall of Sound Gold Star sound, made using complex recording techniques at StarrSound Studios in Denmark with top producer\u00a0S\u00f8ren Christensen\u00a0and mixing genius\u00a0Seiki Sato\u00a0from Japan.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From\u00a0\u2018Here Are The Courettes,\u2019 their debut album from 2015, you \u0301ll find\u00a0<em>I\u2019ve\u00a0Been Walking<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Push It Too Hard<\/em> (a duet with\u00a0Kim Kix\u00a0of\u00a0Powersolo), both raw and rocking, along with a 2021 re-recording of\u00a0<em>The Boy I Love<\/em>, which heads deep down the\u00a0\u201860s Girl Group alley. On\u00a0\u2018We Are The Courettes,\u2019 their second album, the duo began using overdubs in the studio. You can hear Flavia singing harmonies and playing piano and organ on the swinging tracks\u00a0<em>Time is Ticking<\/em> and\u00a0Strawberry Boy. The album also contained the garage nerve of\u00a0\u2018Hoodoo Hop\u2019\u00a0and\u00a0\u2018Voodoo Doll\u2019, featuring legendary Brazilian Horror icon\u00a0Coffin Joe\u00a0on spells.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The brilliant\u00a0\u2018Back in Mono\u2019\u00a0album found the duo on top songwriting form and<strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>is represented on the compilation by\u00a0<em>Hop The Twig<\/em>, <em>Want You! Matching the garage rock ferocity of The Sonics to prime early 60s girl group, the band&#8217;s output is utterly feral in the most addictive possible way.
