Cardiff-based four-piece Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard return with their dark new single Therapy<\/em>. The news comes closely on the heels of their recent single Chew<\/a><\/em>, which was released earlier this year to widespread critical acclaim. The band have also announced a new 16-date headline UK tour for March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following on from their Welsh Music Prize nominated debut album \u2018Backhand Deals\u2019 in 2022, the band have been writing and recording at frontman and producer Tom Rees’s Rat Trap studio, the room where Rees has previously recorded and produced tracks for emerging talent – Panic Shack, Do Nothing and The Bug Club. With the band having showcased new material live earlier this year along with recently releasing Chew<\/a><\/em>, the new single Therapy<\/em> arrives as a further nod to the band\u2019s move towards a heavier and disquieting sound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new single still carries the band\u2019s the fast-paced energy and trademark \u201870s references from their earlier releases, but fuses it with heavy fuzz-drenched guitars, a crushing rhythm section, and fevered vocals delivering inward-facing lyrics about Rees\u2019s views on therapy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking on the single, he says: “Not surprisingly I wrote Therapy after I had my head squeezed like a giant cyst and years and years of backlogged pus just started oozing out (\u201cmy father\u201d this and \u201cmy mother\u201d that). I was so impressed by how great I felt that I became a massive nuisance to everyone around me telling them they need to go to therapy – big \u201ca person you kind of know telling you that you NEED to watch Breaking Bad\u201d vibes – so this song was really an extension of that. More than anything it was a fun opportunity to be creative with imagery around feeling frustrated, and the freedom that came from getting the help to understand why.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
