Following the release of their acclaimed debut collaborative album\u00a0\u2018Orchards of a Futile Heaven<\/a>\u2019,\u00a0The Body & Dis Fig\u00a0have announced a collaborative tour throughout North America this Summer. The shows will be their first ever collaborative shows, with more planned for Europe and the UK later in the year, including a set at\u00a0Amplifest\u00a0in Porto, Portugal.\u00a0 Tour dates can be found\u00a0 below and tickets are on sale now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Body & Dis Fig\u00a0are a natural pair. Each has pioneered instantly recognizable worlds of sound all their own that defy any traditional categorizations or boundaries.\u00a0The Body,\u00a0Lee Buford\u00a0and\u00a0Chip King, continually challenge any conventional conception of metal, collaborating with myriad artists and from the folk-leanings of their work with\u00a0BIG|BRAVE\u00a0to their groundbreaking work with the\u00a0Assembly of Light Choir\u00a0to the intensity of their collaborations with\u00a0OAA\u00a0or\u00a0Thou.\u00a0Dis Fig, aka\u00a0Felicia Chen, pushes electronic music into dark extremes, from warped DJ sets to avant production, from being a member of\u00a0Tianzhuo <\/strong>Chen\u2019s\u00a0performance-art series\u00a0TRANCE\u00a0to being the vocalist with\u00a0The Bug. The Body and Dis Fig find kinship in reimagining what it means to make \u201cheavy music\u201d. Their debut\u00a0\u2018Orchards of a Futile Heaven\u2019\u00a0is the perfect synthesis of two forces, twisting melodicism and intoxicating rhythms, layering a dense miasma of distortion with intense beats and a soaring voice clawing its way towards absolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Orchards of a Futile Heaven\u2019s<\/em>\u00a0walls of sputtering texture and tectonic booms are soaked in the reverence and melancholy of sacred spaces brought to life by palpable intensity by Chen\u2019s voice. Crafted during a time of personal fragility, the album\u2019s devastating force lies beyond any of the expected noise and abrasive textures typically associated with both The Body & Dis Fig. Suffused with a raw vulnerability and a longing for catharsis, Chen\u2019s voice searches for escape in the midst of oppressive atmospheres as if determined to find relief from guilt.\u00a0Orchards of a Futile Heaven<\/em>\u00a0affirms The Body & Dis Fig as skilled sound sculptors who have an exceptional ability to make deeply affecting music, bracing as it is touching, harrowing as it is awe-inspiring.
