Friday kicks off<\/strong> with an unforgettable night of instrumental magic as EXPLOSIONS IN THE SKY<\/strong> and GODSPEED YOU! BLACK EMPEROR<\/strong> conjure up ethereal, emotion-driven soundscapes. They\u2019re joined by heavy psych-rockers BLACK MOUNTAIN<\/strong> and KADAVAR<\/strong>, with local experimentalists OCTOPUS PROJECT<\/strong> adding an extra layer of trippy sonics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saturday dives deep<\/strong> into electronic psych, featuring DARKSIDE<\/strong>\u2019s mesmerizing beats, KIM GORDON<\/strong> fresh off her Grammy nomination, the synth-heavy grooves of STRFKR<\/strong>, and art-rock provocateur GEORDIE GREEP<\/strong>. Sunday brings it all home<\/strong> with DINOSAUR JR<\/strong> performing their seminal album Without A Sound<\/em>, co-headlining with indie darlings YO LA TENGO<\/strong>. THE LEGACY OF AUSTIN PSYCH FEST & LEVITATION<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Austin Psych Fest began in 2008 as a DIY celebration of the underground psych scene<\/strong>, growing into an internationally recognized festival. The event was later rebranded as LEVITATION<\/strong> in honor of Austin\u2019s psychedelic rock pioneers, The 13th Floor Elevators.<\/strong>After a successful 15-year anniversary return in 2023, APF continues to thrive as a springtime gathering of sonic explorers, setting the stage for LEVITATION each fall.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since its inception, APF has been a hub for indie, psych, metal, shoegaze, dream pop, and beyond<\/strong>, celebrating the legacy of sonic pioneers while showcasing cutting-edge artists who keep the experimental spirit alive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s Next?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

LEVITATION 2025<\/strong> returns September 25-27, bringing another immersive multi-day event to Austin<\/strong> with legendary lineups and unforgettable performances. LEVITATION FRANCE 2025<\/strong> will mark its 12th edition<\/strong> in Angers, France, June 27-28, expanding to a new and larger venue. The Reverberation Appreciation Society<\/strong> continues to curate live sessions, vinyl releases, and must-have merch. Resound Presents<\/strong>, the team behind APF, keeps the Austin music scene thriving with 1,000+ live shows a year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
