This mesmerizing track weaves Barrie Cadogan\u2019s smooth, understated vocals and guitar licks through Malcolm Catto\u2019s inventive tempo shifts, Lewis Wharton\u2019s deep-pocket bass, and Raven Bush\u2019s eerie violin\u2014courtesy of The Heliocentrics collective. Produced by Catto and Little Barrie themselves, the album is a fearless plunge into uncharted musical territory. Across eight tracks, you\u2019ll find a heady blend of \u201960s British blues, deep funk grooves, jazz explorations, and fuzzy, atmospheric rock. \u201c<em>We simply follow what feels exciting, no genre rules,\u201d<\/em> Catto explains. Cadogan adds, \u201c<em>Slowing down or dialing back the volume can pack just as much punch as a wall of sound\u2014sometimes more.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Why \u2018Electric War\u2019 matters<\/strong><br>Over two decades, Little Barrie have quietly built a reputation as one of the U.K.\u2019s most resilient bands, fusing blues, funk, hip\u2011hop, and rock \u2019n\u2019 roll into a unique sonic stew. Cadogan\u2019s guitar work has scored everything from <em>Better Call Saul<\/em> to Baz Luhrmann\u2019s <em>Elvis<\/em>, and he\u2019s been the go\u2011to sideman for icons like Primal Scream, Liam Gallagher, Johnny Marr, Paul Weller, Morrissey, and Dan Auerbach. Catto, a pillar of the U.K. underground funk and psych-jazz scenes, brought his masterful drumming and production chops to The Heliocentrics before joining Little Barrie in 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018Electric War\u2019 is their first release on Dan Auerbach\u2019s Easy Eye Sound label, and it proves that the creative chemistry between Cadogan, Wharton, and Catto is unstoppable. \u201c<em>Playing these songs live showed us we don\u2019t need to follow traditional song structures,\u201d<\/em> Wharton says. \u201c<em>We just chase whatever sounds fresh and exciting.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Listen &amp;
