New single Reason to Stay<\/em> out now + North American tour kicks off this Fall<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pixel Grip is back \u2014 and this time, they\u2019re blowing the whole thing up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chicago-based electronic trio just announced their third full-length album, \u2018Percepticide: The Death of Reality,\u2019 dropping June 12. It\u2019s intense, gritty, and gloriously unhinged in all the right ways. Alongside the announcement comes a new single, Reason to Stay<\/em> \u2014 a seething, pulse-throbbing anthem that\u2019s less about heartbreak and more about setting fire to the aftermath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reason to Stay<\/em> is anything but tender. It\u2019s abrasive, it\u2019s confrontational, and it\u2019s fueled by a growling bassline that drives the chaos home. Vocalist Rita Lukea pulls no punches here, howling, \u201cWhat\u2019s the point of giving less than 100%? You pushed me to the limit \u2014 what the fuck you expect?\u201d<\/em> It\u2019s a blistering middle finger to betrayal, and a twisted declaration of resilience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI wanted to show that staying \u2014 surviving \u2014 doesn\u2019t always look graceful<\/em>,\u201d Rita says. \u201cSometimes it\u2019s rage. Sometimes it\u2019s just staying to hear them scream.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Percepticide isn\u2019t just an album \u2014 It\u2019s a reckoning<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Written across three years split between LA and Chicago, \u2018Percepticide\u2019 dives deep into personal and collective unraveling. The band \u2014 Rita Lukea (vocals), Jonathon Freund (synth), and Tyler Ommen (drums) \u2014 poured their experiences of trauma, addiction, emotional fracture, and identity crisis into every beat, synth line, and lyric.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The title is a blend of \u201cpercipere\u201d (to perceive) and \u201c-cide\u201d (to kill). It\u2019s about the death of perception \u2014 when what you believed to be true shatters into dust. The result is a raw, dark, cathartic body of work that sounds like what it feels like to lose yourself \u2014 and then come back sharper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c\u2018Percepticide\u2019 is a cognitive distortion,<\/em>\u201d Rita explains. \u201cIt\u2019s the moment when you no longer trust the reality you used to live in. My hope is that through this album, someone out there can feel seen in their rage and not so alone.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Pixel Grip\u2019s Reign of Synth and Seduction<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Pixel Grip has always been hard to pin down. They take elements of darkwave, industrial, house, and avant-pop and bend them into their own radical sound. Think high fashion rave meets queer underground basement show. They’ve drawn comparisons to Aphex Twin, LCD Soundsystem, and Lorde \u2014 and yet sound like none of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They\u2019ve been called \u201crelentlessly horny\u201d by PAPER<\/em>, \u201ca sonic paradise beyond heaven\u201d by The Big Takeover<\/em>, and their tracks have already racked up over 7 million streams. Their cult following? Fierce and growing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last year, they toured with HEALTH and DEHD, sold out their own headline shows, and made jaws drop at Riot Fest. Their music has strutted down runways for VERSACE and Alexandre Vauthier. It\u2019s edgy, it\u2019s sultry, it\u2019s defiant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fall Tour 2025: The Percepticide Tour<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Pixel Grip is hitting the road for a massive 26-date North American headline tour in support of \u2018Percepticide\u2019. It all kicks off September 23 in St. Louis and wraps November 14 with a hometown blowout at Chicago\u2019s legendary Metro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
