The London-based duo just dropped their debut EP&nbsp;\u2018Detrimentors\u2019 via Marathon Artists, and it\u2019s as beautiful as it is bizarre \u2014 a strange, glittering rabbit hole of pop experimentation and avant-garde flair that demands to be explored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This isn\u2019t your typical debut.&nbsp;\u2018Detrimentors\u2019 doesn\u2019t knock politely \u2014 it breaks the door down, drags you into a world of surreal soundscapes and shimmery sonic textures, and leaves you somewhere between enchanted and unnerved. Dora, a classically trained vocalist, weaves complex emotions and delicate textures with a voice that somehow channels Bj\u00f6rk, FKA twigs, and Bowie all at once. Her lyrics are pulled from Poe-esque poetry, dystopian lit, and everyday voice memos. The result? Intimate but cinematic, like diary entries written on the moon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nuch, meanwhile, is the visual architect \u2014 a self-taught artist conjuring surreal, moth-and-fungi-laced worlds that turn every BEEFCAKE release into a full-blown multimedia experience. Their videos and artwork aren\u2019t just eye candy \u2014 they\u2019re invitations into a bizarre, beautiful realm where colour, humour, and fantasy run wild.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The duo met at The BRIT School (of course they did) and instantly clicked \u2014 same clothes, same weird fashion obsessions, same relentless creative energy. Shared loves like Vocaloid, kawaii culture, and Japanese alt fashion now pulse through everything they do. It\u2019s not just music; it\u2019s a portal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Need more reasons to dive in? The EP was produced by Scott Bowley at the Rising Sun studio in South London \u2014 the same space that\u2019s birthed sounds from black midi, The Last Dinner Party, Shame, and AJ Tracey.
