After nearly two decades of being one of post-punk\u2019s sharpest, noisiest, and most gloriously sarcastic bands, mclusky<\/strong> have crashed back onto the scene with \u2018the world is still here and so are we,\u2019 their first album since the early 2000s. And if you thought time would mellow them out… you clearly don\u2019t know mclusky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The album dropped via Ipecac Recordings and, in true mclusky fashion, it\u2019s a weird, raucous, riff-heavy riot. Think: sardonic humour, explosive energy, and enough angular guitar to slice through steel. Critics are loving it\u2014NPR calls it \u201cprogressive, weird, snotty post-punk bursting with creativity,<\/em>\u201d and Pitchfork says the band still sounds just as noisy (and unhinged) as ever. Yes please.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Video Drop: “autofocus on the prime directive”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The band unveiled a new video for the album standout\u00a0autofocus on the prime directive<\/em><\/strong>, once again teaming up with director Remy Lamont\u2014whose visuals seem to match mclusky\u2019s manic energy note for note. The clip is surreal, disjointed, a little bit genius, and exactly what you’d expect from a band whose frontman once described the track as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
