French noise-rock trio\u00a0This Will Destroy Your Ears\u00a0are back to blow your speakers and melt your brains with ‘FUNLAND’, their third album, landing October 10, 2025. The announcement comes paired with a thunderous new single,\u00a0Gorgeous Eve Holds A Banger Hammer<\/em>, out now<\/a>\u2014complete with a surreal, scrapbook-style video that\u2019s equal parts oddball and oddly moving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recorded in January at their DIY recording space Recording United<\/em> (a gritty dream factory tucked in Hossegor), ‘FUNLAND’ is a love letter to the weird and wonderful pockets of the UK the band has stumbled into while touring\u2014chief among them: Blackpool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s about this bizarre, dreamlike night we had there,<\/em>\u201d the band explains. \u201cThere was a pirate doing karaoke, a guy in an angel costume jumping off the pier, and a mermaid spilling gin on everyone. It was wild.\u201d<\/em> That frenzied energy pulses through Gorgeous Eve Holds A Banger Hammer<\/em>\u2014a fuzz-drenched, chaotic celebration of the night out you maybe shouldn\u2019t remember, but totally do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The track was produced and recorded by Ben Hampson (DITZ, Lambrini Girls) in France, mixed in Brighton, and mastered by Katie Tavini in the UK. It\u2019s loud, unhinged, and exactly what you’d expect from a band who named themselves This Will Destroy Your Ears.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The video\u2014directed by visual artist Thibault Tourmente\u2014is as unconventional as the band itself. It\u2019s a single shot of a handmade art book filled with eerie, Lynchian collages and cryptic images. \u201cIt\u2019s simple on the surface,\u201d<\/em> says vocalist Pierre-Yo, \u201cbut it\u2019s really about how layered and strange a place can be, especially when it\u2019s seen through a haze of tour exhaustion and late-night surrealism.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
