Records &amp; Grand Hotel van Cleef<\/strong><br><br>Brighton&#8217;s finest gritpop duo, Snake Eyes, are back at it\u2014and this time they\u2019re smashing TV sets and expectations alike in the new video for their grungy new single&nbsp;<em>HDTV<\/em>, out now via Alcopop! Records (UK) and Grand Hotel van Cleef (GER).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fresh off their \u2018Make You Feel Better\u2019 UK headline tour, the duo has dropped a glorious slice of chaotic groove rock, pairing crunchy guitars with brass, scratch FX, and even cowbell. That\u2019s right, cowbell. It\u2019s a kitchen-sink moment and they own every bit of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Directed by drummer Thomas Coe-Brooker, with camera work from Lee London, the <em>HDTV<\/em> video is a joyride through parody-land. The band cheekily channels cult classics like&nbsp;<em>Top of the Pops 2<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>A Place in the Sun<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>Come Dine With Me<\/em>, and yep\u2014<em>Breaking Bad<\/em>. It\u2019s retro, it\u2019s weird, it\u2019s totally Snake Eyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mYMIYwfplOk?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-CA&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bfan.link\/hdtv\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Stream <em>HDTV<\/em><\/a><br><br>The track scored its first BBC Radio 6Music spin thanks to Craig Charles, and features a production dream team: mixed by Tom Hill (JOHN, Soot Sprite), and mastered by Dan Coutant (The Wonder Years, Drug Church, Fiddlehead). It\u2019s the third drop in what\u2019s already shaping up to be a huge year for the band.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Vocalist\/guitarist Jim Heffy breaks it down: \u201c<em>This song came from feeling stuck\u2014minimum wage jobs, rising costs, you know the drill.&nbsp;HDTV&nbsp;is about finding comfort in the little things. If you\u2019re reading this, you\u2019re more than your day job. Don\u2019t let the bastards grind you down.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Heffy also let us in on how this wild ride of a track came together: <em>\u201cTom Hill told us we threw the kitchen sink at it\u2014and he wasn\u2019t wrong. Trumpets, vinyl scratching (which Brooker taught himself just for this track!), and yes,&nbsp;plenty&nbsp;of cowbell.
