But when Maya reimagined the lyrics in French, something clicked. Guitarist and composer&nbsp;<strong>Sei Nakauchi Pelletier<\/strong>, who juggles both Japanese and French-Canadian roots, felt the dual-language version hit even closer to home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<em>That\u2019s when we decided to bring in strings,<\/em>\u201d Sei explains. \u201c<em>We wanted to lean into that Serge Gainsbourg\/Jean-Claude Vannier aesthetic.\u201d<\/em> Montreal-based string wizard&nbsp;<strong>Guido Del Fabbro<\/strong>&nbsp;added arrangements that give the track a smoky, retro cinematic edge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What&#8217;s On&nbsp;<em>Hagata Delux<\/em>?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018Hagata Delux\u2019 doesn\u2019t just expand the album\u2014it opens a whole new dimension. The deluxe version includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Five reworks\/remixes of&nbsp;\u2018Hagata\u2019 tracks, including a gnarly boom-bap flavoured flip of <em>Gotoku Lemon<\/em> by Sei himself<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Brand-new original TEKE::TEKE song <em>Meimu<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rarities like their searing Japanese cover of The Clash\u2019s <em>Bankrobber<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A version of Unwound\u2019s <em>Corpse Pose<\/em> that melts and rebuilds the original in the band\u2019s signature style<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Their track <em>Visible Lights<\/em> from the Dungeons &amp; Dragons comp<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A killer take on <em>Chidori<\/em> by legendary surf guitarist Takeshi Terauchi, one of TEKE::TEKE\u2019s biggest inspirations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>And if you\u2019re a vinyl lover, you\u2019re in luck: this one\u2019s pressed on eco-mixed recycled wax for a limited run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Assassin\u2019s Creed, but Make It TEKE::TEKE<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Fresh off scoring Ubisoft\u2019s&nbsp;<em>Assassin\u2019s Creed Shadows<\/em>&nbsp;soundtrack, TEKE::TEKE\u2019s momentum is only picking up. Their album&nbsp;\u2018Kage No Iro\u2019\u2014featuring six original songs and a bold reinterpretation of <em>Ezio\u2019s Family<\/em>\u2014is now available to stream or snag on vinyl.
