The release features new tracks\u00a0<em>Straight Line<\/em>\u00a0and the title cut\u00a0<em>Someday, Foreve<\/em>r.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The band are already attracting heavy praise from across the music world:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cIt\u2019s got this early Interpol feel to it\u201d \u2014 Matt Wilkinson, Apple Music<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cIf you\u2019re a fan of Fontaines D.C., Interpol, The Cure, Slowdive, you\u2019re gonna love them\u201d \u2014 BBC 6 Music, Introducing Mixtape<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cBlending the urgency of Fontaines D.C. with the melodic effervescence of Wet Leg\u201d \u2014 CLASH<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cExcellent stuff\u201d \u2014 John Kennedy, Radio X<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fronted by Mexican-born, London-based Diego Bracho, The Youth Play stand out as much for their story as for their music. Raised in Mexico City on Latin pop and the sweeping sounds of bands like The National and Interpol, Diego initially pursued a career in environmental science, working in a Barcelona lab developing bioplastics from food waste. But frustrated by the slow pace of change in a profit-driven world, he turned to music as a more direct, impactful way to inspire action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That spirit of resistance and reinvention runs deep through&nbsp;<em>someday, forever<\/em>. The EP\u2019s lyrics wrestle with themes of migration, climate change, injustice, and mental health, while still searching for moments of joy and hope amidst despair. On opener&nbsp;<em>Maybe This Is All For Us<\/em>, Diego writes of \u201cthe deep blossom of our discontent,\u201d capturing the weight of living under constant uncertainty as a migrant musician in the UK, facing the looming threat of deportation when his visa expires in November. Yet the closing track,&nbsp;<em>Last Day On Earth<\/em>, refuses to sink into despair, offering instead a reminder that even in the darkest times, there\u2019s still life worth celebrating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c<em>Even though the EP explores very dark themes the overall statement is one of hope and about finding true meaning in the things we do,<\/em>\u201d Diego explains. \u201c<em>We are living in scary times\u2014wars, environmental disasters, housing crisis, political crisis.
