There’s something enchantingly heavy brewing in L.A.—meet Faetooth, the three-piece architects of “fairy‑doom.” They’ve dropped their latest spell, Death of Day, and it’s every bit as fierce and beautiful as you’d hope.
New Track: Death of Day
If Subrosa’s mournful doom metal and True Widow’s hazy shoegaze ever collided in a dream, you’d get Faetooth. Their sound drapes you in spellbinding melodies before crashing into guttural shrieks…and Death of Day is no exception. The track conjures a twilight realm where beauty and brutality dance together, offering a raw glimpse into Faetooth’s mystifying world.
Behind the Lyrics
Singer and bassist Jenna Garcia reveals the song’s origins: “I got hooked on the Lilith myth—this figure born from the ‘dregs,’ cast out for her very existence. That felt like a powerful mirror to the queer and trans experience—always othered, always fighting to exist. So I wrote an ode to Lilith’s exile: she only emerges at night, they call her ugly, but she brings along every outcast they love to hate. It’s a two‑verse journey from birth in the darkness to a full‑blown rebellion: ‘You hate me? Fine—I’ll bring all my friends and watch you squirm.’”
