Kid Congo & The Pink Monkey Birds are riding high off the buzz of ‘That Delicious Vice,’ which has officially hit its second pressing on In The Red Records—and to celebrate, they’re hitting the road this September for their first run of 2025, bringing their spellbinding garage psych to the Midwest and Canada.

Alongside the tour announcement, the band just dropped a striking visual for the track Silver For My Sister, a surreal, stop-motion-laced journey directed by Max Flick and Ambar Navarro. The track’s origin story is just as haunting as the video itself: Kid wrote it after a brutal bike accident left him immobile for five months. During that difficult stretch, he also lost longtime friend Julie Long Gallegos, a beloved jeweler and passionate wolf preservationist. The line “a wish to crawl,” scribbled on a post-it during recovery, became the seed for the song—part tribute, part fairy tale, and all heart.

The video captures this dreamlike spirit with lush textures and strange beauty. Punk legend Alice Bag stars as the jeweler, adding yet another layer of history and chemistry. Kid and Alice go way back—to the heyday of Hollywood punk in 1977—and recently rekindled their creative connection as Juanita & Juan, a gloriously genre-defying duo they describe as “Loud Lounge.” Their debut album ‘Jungle Cruise’ dropped earlier this year, also on In The Red, and they’ve been hitting West Coast stages together in support.
