Swedish synth-pop duo KITE is back with an irresistible new single, Heartless Places, featuring the enchanting vocals of Nina Persson from The Cardigans. Along with a bonus remix by Nine Inch Nails’ own Alessandro Cortini, this track is set to captivate fans around the globe.

KITE first burst onto the Scandinavian synth-pop scene 16 years ago and has since evolved from local heroes into a worldwide sensation. Their 14-track collection, ‘VII,’ released last year, perfectly encapsulates their cinematic blend of Swedish darkwave—rich with atmosphere, beauty, and a touch of desolation.

Earlier this year, KITE delivered a breathtaking, one-of-a-kind performance at Stockholm’s Avicii Arena. Performing on ice before a sold-out crowd of 16,000, they turned the venue into a dazzling spectacle complete with synchronized figure skaters, mesmerizing light shows, and dynamic video panels. That unforgettable night was made even more special with a live collaboration with Nina Persson, now immortalized in the official music video directed by Martin Malm.

And if that isn’t enough, the single also features an intriguing remix by Alessandro Cortini. As KITE puts it, “Alessandro is a huge source of inspiration for us. If you know him from NIN but haven’t heard his solo works, you’re in for a treat. Please check out his catalogue and we recommend that you start with ‘Avanti’—it’s a masterpiece!”

Looking ahead, KITE is ready to light up Cruel World Festival in Pasadena, CA on May 17, sharing the stage with legends like New Order, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, and Devo. Later this year, they’ll also be gracing the stage at Sweden’s Way Out West Festival.

Stay tuned for more exciting updates from KITE!
