After hijacking headlines with one of Glastonbury’s most talked-about sets in recent memory, Belfast’s rabble-rousing rap trio KNEECAP are back with a new visual for their summer anthem The Recap. Dropping via Heavenly Recordings, the video lands in the wake of their Glasto chaos and a jaw-dropping festival run that’s only picking up steam.
Originally leaked to fans through their WhatsApp group back in May—because of course they did—The Recap made its official digital debut just before the group hit the stage at Worthy Farm. Within a week, the track clocked over a million streams. Not bad for a band constantly throwing punches at the status quo.
Directed by Finn Keenan (who pulled the whole thing together in just over a week with a dream team of creatives), the video matches the track’s rebellious energy beat for beat. As Keenan put it: “A once in a lifetime kind of job. So grateful to each and every one of yiz. More Blacks, More Dogs, More Irish, Mo Chara.”
Musically, The Recap is a riot. The trio linked up with drum & bass producer Mozey to turn the heat all the way up, bringing the same unruly edge they brought to their headline slot at London’s Wide Awake Festival. Basslines thump, drums flip from punk chaos to rave bliss, and the message is loud and clear: KNEECAP are here to shake the system.

Revolution, Raving, and Ripping Up the Rulebook
Whether it’s pulling up to Sundance in a cop Land Rover, sparking political fury with their pro-Palestinian message at Coachella, or packing out sold-out shows across the globe, KNEECAP are redefining what a modern protest band looks (and sounds) like.
Their Wide Awake Festival set was a watershed moment—earning praise from The Guardian, The Telegraph, Pitchfork, and The Irish Times. The Times even went so far as to call it “historic… exciting, funny and anarchic, with a rebellious edge that has not been seen in rock or rap for years.” In true KNEECAP fashion, they followed it by announcing their biggest headline show to date—Wembley Arena, September 18, 2025.
But they’re not stopping there. This summer, they’re sharing the stage with Fontaines D.C. at massive outdoor shows in Ireland, storming European festivals (Green Man, Oya, Sziget and more), and teasing a return to the studio for the follow-up to ‘Fine Art’.
With co-signs from Elton John, Annie Mac, Noel Gallagher, Amyl & The Sniffers, Massive Attack, and even the occasional football terrace graffiti, KNEECAP’s movement is both cultural and contagious.
