Kraftwerk to perform at Finland’s Flow Festival

Kraftwerk

Kraftwerk, electronic music legends, will perform a specially curated version of their 3D visual projections spectacle at the Flow Festival (Wednesday 7 – Sunday 11 of August 2013) in historic Suvilahti, former power plant area, in central Helsinki, Finland this year. Kraftwerk have been amazing sold out crowds at London’s Tate Modern and New York’s Museum of Modern Art with respective residencies displaying all of their music from the past four decades juxtaposed with an awe inspiring visual spectacle.

But it’s not only electronic music legends that represent what Flow is about: Disclosure will also be presenting their forthcoming debut album to Flow’s expectant crowds. Additionally, Nu-Disco frontliners Tensnake, Todd Terje from Norway and the queen of deep house Maya Jane Coles will be headlining the electronic stream of this exciting mishmash of musical talent.

Flow has become synonymous with bringing music from old school legends to topical newcomers, Scandinavia’s finest and a whole host of international talent. This year is no exception as artists such as Swedish duo The Knife, perform tracks from their forthcoming album. Alongside will be Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Solange, Mykki Blanco, afro beat hero Ebo Taylor, Karenn (Blawan & Pariah), Azealia Banks, Finnish electro outfit Sarah Kivi & Non Orchestra and Rough Trade’s favourite Swedes, Goat – with even more acts still to be announced.

Beyond the music, Flow offers a warm embrace of the arts, offering art displays from Scandinavia and abroad as well as showcasing art house film, cinema, lectures and an exceptional array of world spanning cuisine. There’s easily enough to keep attendees occupied, if ever spending a summer weekend in culture hub Helsinki wasn’t enough.
