MOURN have shared a new track Doing It Right, the 3rd single from their 3rd LP ‘Sorpresa Familia’. Continuing to churn out driving post-punk music that demonstrates their immense talent, Doing It Right delves further into the themes of nefarious music industry mistrials the band went through just after their momentum increased internationally. The track’s lyrics features actual words spoken to the band by condescending “professionals” with unclear motives. Take a listen to the track via Spotify below.
The band shared insight on the angst they expressed in song and how they dealt with their vexation in a feature with Consequence of Sound:
“When you are going through hard times it makes it easier if you have someone by your side that is going through the same who can support you. We were lucky to have each other and to be able to share our feelings and to go through that experience together.
The creative process for this song involved being in a room writing down all those things that hurt us and turning them into something positive. We used our problems to build a song that would make us feel better and even more connected to each other. It made us feel powerful, because no one can take that away from us. Never.”
