Mouse On Mars remix Brandt Brauer Frick

Brandt Brauer Frick

Electronic music innovators, Mouse On Mars, have remixed Brandt Brauer Frick’s Broken Pieces, featuring vocals by Jamie Lidell. Mouse On Mars have messed around with the track and made it weird, yet still accessible. Listen to the remix below via Soundcloud.

The original version of the track can be found on Brandt Brauer Frick’s recently released LP ‘Miami’, out now via !K7 Records.

The group is also confirmed to play this year’s MUTEK festival in Montreal on May 30. Other artists confirmed for the festival include Andy Stott, The Field, Nosaj Thing, Pantha du Prince, etc. For more information and ticket info, visit mutek.org.

On the Berlin trio’s third album ‘Miami’, said they are not following the formula of the album’s two predecessors. “Mr Machine [2011’s sophomore album, recorded with the a ten piece classical ensemble] especially was very planned and strict,” says Paul Frick. “We wanted to be more spontaneous this time. We wanted to do something very different, more dark and more rough. We wanted to write songs rather than tracks that slowly evolve.”

Another major difference is the appearance of a number of guest vocalists who had a big influence on the album’s direction. There are appearances from Jamie Lidell, Om’mas Keith (Grammy nominated producer of Frank Ocean’s Channel Orange, Kanye West, Jay Z), Gudrun Gut (Einsturzende Neubauten and German punk band Malaria!), Erika Janunger and Russian DJ and producer Nina Kraviz.
