POP Montreal @ SXSW2014

Are you headed to SXSW2014? Do you like free drinks? Who doesn’t, right?

The POP Montreal crew will be heading to SXSW2014 to hold two events on March 13th as part of Planet Quebec @ Maggie Mae’s, 323 E 6th St (organized by the Government of Quebec), and March 14th POP Montreal showcase @ Velveeta, 521 E 6th St.

This year, POP Montreal will host a fourth edition of Planet Quebec on March 13th. It’s a day party with free drinks, a chance to win a trip to POP Montreal, and live performances by two of the most talked about bands that debuted at last year’s event – the ambient electro-pop outfit Seoul, and husband/wife duo Thus:Owls, whose album “Turning Rocks” will be released worldwide on April 8th. These buzz bands could only be followed by Montreal’s superstar glam diva Jef Barbara, whose energetic live shows are known to cast a dancing spell on whoever is watching. The party will continue and close with the aesthetically unique and dark synth-pop enigmas Chevalier Avant Garde. RSVP for Planet Quebec here.

The following day on March 14th, POP are at it again and treat SXSWers to sets by Seoul, Jef Barbara and Chevalier Avant Garde, as well as ex-Unicorns and ex-Clues mastermind Alden Penner. He will be followed by Montreal’s avant-rock-pop Each Other, Jessy Lanza who toured the world off her successful debut “Pull My Hair Back,” Jef Barbara, and Petite Noir who headline the event.
