Iconic Canadian clothing brand, Preloved, will unveil its Spring/Summer 2016 collection during a runway show at Toronto’s World MasterCard® Fashion Week on Monday, October 19 at 7 p.m.
Marking its 20th anniversary this fall, Preloved has been creating unique, sustainable and fashion forward clothing manufactured and designed with love in Canada since 1995. As part of the celebrations, Preloved will showcase its SS16 collection, comprised of three distinct capsule collections with a stunning runway show aptly named Twenty. The capsule collections include: Scouts Honour, Staycation and Desert Rock—all of which embody elements of Canada’s natural landscape transformed into fashion forward, wardrobe essentials.
“This collection continues Preloved’s long-standing tradition and design philosophy of using up-cycled vintage materials, along with new fabrics to create unique, one-of-kind items with a Preloved twist,” says Julia Grieve, founder and creative director. “The timeless, Canadian-inspired pieces represent the countries lush greenery, softness of water and nature’s rocky elements.”
Army-inspired with nature-inflected designs, the Scouts Honour pieces represent the calmness and beauty of Canada’s north through relaxed silhouettes and a natural colour palette with hues of blue, grey and green. Scouts Honour embraces the comfort of camping without sacrificing style.
Bright, bold and modern, the Staycation capsule is playfully stylish for summer. Fun graphics, bright pops of colour and flowy silhouettes make dressing down for the hottest months a breeze.
Inspired by musical festivals, fashion and ‘70s boho style, the Desert Rock line features free spirited silhouettes with cool desert hues. A modern take on vintage style, the pieces offer an edgy vibe with a relaxed, airy feel.
